Citizenship and Flood
I became Canadian in June 2007.
That month was also the month our basement flooded.
Everything was new when we bought the house, less than 2 years before so it wasn't much different after the renovations. The doors and the stairs were more fancy and the shelves I had painted white became a desk.
A real nightmare as far as insurance went. We had to pay everything in advance and it took over a year to get it all done...
