Alsace 2005 and More

We celebrated my Mom's 53rd birthday in Alsace.

For my children: this last photo was taken in the house I always point to you when we go to the bakery near Grandpère and Grandmère's house. You will have recognized Tatie Marguerite, whose husband (above) has passed away, tonton Charala, also decased and Tante Maria, in heaven now too. You will have recognized above tatie Cathy and tonton Philippe. I stayed with them every summer as a child. Tatie Cathy, who doesn't drive, would still find ways to show us around. And she did the same that summer: Haut Koenigsbourg, small Venice, Kaysersberg...We also went to visit her Aunt Catherine's place (Katharina Miclo was the first to go live in the Americas and she came back when she retired.)

I finished my trip with a visit to tonton Yann, Aurélie and Nicolas!

Tonton Yann is dead now and the house has been sold...

Saint-Nazaire 2005

After Barcelona, we went back to our hometown of Saint-Nazaire.

I miss France a lot. My family, especially, but also all the food. I remember taking pictures of what is so common over there that I still can't find here.

Yogurts on your left:

And the chocolate, of course...

What I miss the most are the breakfast products:

You can now find things similar to Top Cao but not to the Muesli and I haven't see any Chocapic or Poulain :( So I ate a lot and I also played cards a lot. Keld doesn't like playing games...

My aunt Irene and some of her family were still in town. I saw Rachel at the train station and we played bowling with Jérémie.

I also saw some of my favorite classmates: Ludivine, Sandrine and Erika!

We then left for Alsace without my brother or Stéphanie. I saw my cousin Rémi at the train station.
