Zack's first videos

Not only does Zack sleep more than the other two would  at his age, but he also moves more. Here are some videos to prove it. Notice how these videos also demonstrate Kelden's jealousy. In the first sequence, he stays close to his brother to get the same attention, in the second he is trying to get rid of the playmat so we don't look at his brother and in the third, he is preventing me from filming!

Kelden is so jealous he acts like his brother now.

My last video was filmed this morning. Zack was smiling at me, grateful I was coming to get him.

I was so busy filming that he decided to pretend to fall asleep so I wouldn't have anything exciting to film and would get on with feeding him. But who can resist his smiles?

I sure can't !

First Time at The Cottage

Last week-end, we went to the cottage for the first time this year. It was actually the very first time at the cottage for Grand-Mère, Grand-Père and, of course, Zack. He didn't do much, he just relaxed with my mom the whole time...

...while my dad was busy with the other grand-kids.

He did take a break for lunch. Keld had made a fire and nice sticks so we could enjoy hot-dogs and smores.

Kelden really liked the playground.

And Julia liked everything so much, she went back on the Monday (there was no school for Victoria Day).

Maybe next time my parents come it will be warm enough to play in the water and watch the great wakeboarders we have in the family!

Cedar Meadows

We brought my parents to the "Wilderness Tour" at Cedar Meadows. It's the closest thing to a zoo in Timmins where you get to feed a few animals, those who survive in the North.

First stop: the  elks.

Kelden would give his whole hand to the elk while my mom was quite scared at first.

As you can see, Keld wasn't scared at all. We continued the tour by admiring deers, fallow deers and Canadian geese. The female goose was in her nest and so the male was trying to distract us.

Next stop: the moose. There were two females, the mom and the daughter, the dad having been killed by the elks. The daugther actually almost died when she was born as a bear came for her. Moose are not good fighters apparently.

Final stop: the buffaloes.

You might think that I forgot about Julia as there is almost no pictures of her. Well, she is the one who forgot us. She sat with the other family that was doing the tour! She was too scared to go close to the animals for me to take a picture anyway. I did get one of her in the "Kindergarden Farm" (at the end of the tour).

Maybe next time we go she won't be as scared!

Bowling

My mom wanted to go bowling, because bowling here is different than in France. There are only 5 pins here compare to 10, the bowling balls are a lot smaller, points are calculated differently, etc.
Anyway, here are the pictures of our bowling adventure.

The other players, who tried really hard:

Well, actually, I don't think Jeff tried really hard.

Zack's first baths

Julia and Kelden start screaming whenever I mention the word "bath." Not Zack :)
Here are some pictures of his first bath. He wasn't sure at first, but he quickly liked it.

He relaxes and lets his brother and sister wash him

Kelden and Julia are actually jealous of Zack's private bathtub. They went in today, but I don't dare post pictures :)

Fun with Grand-Père and Grand-Mère

My parents are enjoying their grand-kids and Julia and Kelden are having lots of fun with them.

From biking to playing boardgames to reading, they're pretty busy!

And it's pretty tiring...

They'd better take advantage of being together because my parents are going back to France next week already and who knows when we'll see each other next...

Flood # 2

Yep, last month our basement flooded again. This time, it wasn't sewer backup, it was coming from a window and a crack in the wall, which means no insurance and so we're glad my Mom caught it on time. As soon as she saw it, she told us and we started mopping. Keld called his brothers and they came to help, Jeff even brought Becca (they were happy to see their curfew extended).

Thanks for coming to the rescue late at night! (Thanks Ashley for lending us your husband)
Thanks also to Dad who arranged help for the repairing of the crack. We had Jeff and Ray (aka Bozo) + the tractor.

Now that the outside problem is fixed, we still need to fix the inside:

Keld is not going to redo the floor (it is a bit buckled) but he definitely has to redo the wall!

Happy Birthday Stephanie!

My sister Stephanie had her birthday on Friday (the 13th). I'm late because it wasn't working.
Anyway, like for the others, here's an old picture of the two of us.

And here is a more recent one, with her other sisters.

I like this picture because it's a TV show and movie, and that's just what our Stephanie likes.

One month old

Zack turned one month old this week, and he is still, so far, the quietest baby I've had. He does have a fussy time in the evening but no screaming or crying like Kelden. His record at night was a feeding at 1am and then at 7am, so 6 hours. It was just one time but he regularly lasts 4 hours and that's double the time his siblings would do.

I went with Grand-Mere to the nurse today to weigh him. He is 10 pounds 12, bigger than the other two (who were respectively 10.5 and 10.6). The nurse asked if I had stopped breastfeeding, she thought I might have because of the weight. I guess chocolate milk is heavier than white milk.

The nurse didn't measure him (or do anything else for that matter) so I tried with Keld. We think he is 22 inches.

At any rate, he is still as cute as the day he was born!

Mother's Day in Canada

I haven't been with my Mom on Mother's Day for 10 years, which is since I got married. And technically, I won't be with her on Mother's Day again this year since Mother's Day in France is not until the end of the month and she will be gone by then. But we're going to pretend that yesterday still counted as she was in Canada with me on the Canadian Mother's Day.

No, I didn't crop my Dad out of the picture, because like they say, he is her other half and without him she wouldn't be the mother she is.

Anyway, my Mom is like me, or I guess I should say I'm like my Mom, so we started the day with chocolate. I had bought her the peanut butter-chocolate you can't get in France and that she really likes.

For a little present, as you can see, I got her a picture holder.
I got  presents too for Mother's Day from my children, well, mostly from Julia. In Primary, she decorated a flower pot and planted a flower in it + she made a bookmark.

Yep, there are 2 pots, because one is Kelden's.
At school, Julia made a bracelet that she attached to a nice drawing.

She also made a card for my other mother, my very Special mother, who's been my mother for almost 10 years now.

I haven't known her as long as her sons, but I love her just as much as they do!
