We entered spring last week. To celebrate, we took the bikes out of the shed.
We put them back in. It was -12 and all white this morning.

The Good and the Not-So-Good Days
After another bad night for the boys, Kelden throwing up again all over the kitchen during breakfast, Julia was quite happy to escape and go to school this morning. I had to stay. But I gladly take the bad days, there are many more good days after all.
This is Zack's latest trick: walking behind the truck.
And this is Kelden's latest photoshoot:
Poor Papa, he doesn't look so good right now, the virus got to him.
Kelden did try to take pictures of me too, but I'm just not as photogenic as my husband...
I look tired enough, I don't need no virus. Let's hope girls don't get it.

March Break
March Break is over. I hope Julia had fun, I know Kelden was happy to have his sister with him for a week. The first activity she wanted to do was to decorate some eggs. I know it's early, but she said that since Special is already all decorated for Easter, she should be too.
A classic activity during holidays (okay, and anytime): making a chocolate cake. We tried a new recipe this time, from one of her books.
I think she liked it, even before it was done.
A surprising activity: playing school. She arranged a classroom in her doll house for Barbies and Princesses.
My favorite activity: going for walks. It's a good thing it also was Kelden's favorite. He'd prefer to walk and let our lazy Julia use the stroller than going back home. He loved the puddles.
Julia did walk too, don't get me wrong. She liked to break the ice, and we did go see her teacher who lives close by (I know, she can't even last a week!)
Julia thought it was so nice outside that, instead of walking, we should go swimming at Grandpa's pool. I said not yet. It didn't stop her and she and Kelden pretented to swim at home.
Remember that pose?
It was actually Julia's favorite activity: to be with her best friend, Linda. We went to visit them, they came to visit us and Julia was even invited for a sleepover. She was so excited. Of course, I don't have pictures of that but I do have proof that we saw Aunt Ashley as Kelden's haircut is much better now.

After:
I was told Julia didn't party too hard at the sleepover, but I don't know...she was sleeping before bedtime.
Holidays are so tiring!

11 months
I was waiting for nice pictures of Zack before posting his update, but I don't have any. Maybe it's because he hasn't been nice :) His nights are terrible. Remember how confident I was to beat the record of good nights? (Last year's record being 4 nights without any interruption between 10.30 pm and 5.30 am). My confidence has dramatically dropped. I'd be happy with a night with no interruption from 12.30 to 4.30. That's when Zack keeps waking up and crying-sometimes for 2 hours straight. He also likes to get up early. I feed him around 5, thinking/hoping/wishing that he'll fall back asleep but even if he does, it's usually only for a half-hour. That's when I send Keld. Keld usually sleeps through everything, no matter how many times I get up, except of course during the one or two hours of non-stop crying. Since there were quite a few of those nights lately, at the end of the day, he looks tired too.
As you can see, we've been trying to give Zack some extra milk, but it obviously doesn't help with nights.
My new strategy: going out. My Mom says "fresh air brings good fatigue" (yep, she doesn't speak English).
I know, on Monday the sidewalks were still all full of snow/slush and it turned back to ice again on Wednesday. Last night though, everything was already pretty much melted! Good. We've been inside too long, confined to drive in the hallway.
At 11 months, Zack is approximately 24 pounds for 30 inches. 6 teeth, and the drooling might indicate that more are coming...
The word for the month is: less. He sleeps less at night, he sleeps less during the day and he eats less. Maybe I'm not giving him the good stuff.
He can also clap, pray, whistle like his dad (meaning by sucking air, not blowing). But like I said, I couldn't get good pictures/video of any of it. This is all you get:
Should be good enough. Now, I think I'm going to tell him that I'll eat his piece of birthday cake if he doesn't sleep better by that time, maybe that would help him try harder :) I don't want him to become like his siblings. Did I tell you Kelden has been waking up at least once (but on average twice) a night lately? Good thing Julia only wakes up once every 10 days!

Carnival Day
Friday was Carnival Day at Julia's school. For the last day before the holidays they played games. Keld decided to take the day off to stay with the boys so I could go help the teachers. I couldn't follow Julia everywhere but I did get pictures of her at the "scooter" game.
And at "my" game too. I was assigned the marshmallow game (they didn't have any chocolate game..)
She obviously was playing against a cheater !
Julia had patiently waited for that Carnival Day. Not just for the games but also for the Bonhomme Carnival.
Just like for Santa, other schoolmates told her it was just a costume and she was quite disappointed.
I left after the games but I went to say goodbye outside during their recess.
Sliding wasn't that much fun because it was all ice. It was quite windy at the time too so they didn't stay long.
I think Keld had a good time with the boys. Kelden was dressed when I left.
But he wasn't when I came back. That's his new thing, changing into pyjamas during the day. He also likes to be read stories.
And another pyjama...
Keld also played with Zack, but he wasn't happy all day.
Someone had to miss me!

Sunday Pictures
So Keld just noticed that I made a mistake with my posts on Sunday. Me? Make a mistake? I know, you're shocked, but yep, it did happen Sorry. I put both the French and the English versions on the French blog... I guess my Dad will think I want him to practice his English..
Anyway..here I go again, on the right blog I hope.
I am always tempted to take pictures of my kids on Sunday because they are so well-dressed, but, for some reason, they, on the other hand, are never tempted to pose. We almost got a good one last time though. Almost.
Since Keld goes to church early (he starts his meetings at 7) and since after church the kids are not so well-dressed any more, I didn't try a family picture. Julia took both of us instead.
Last Sunday afternoon, inspired by Uncle Jeff's nametag, Kelden and Julia played "missionaries."
They were the youngest-looking missionary couple I had ever seen.
Julia asked me where I thought she would go on a mission and I said France (of course) but she said that that wasn't where she wanted to go. There are people who don't want to go on a mission to France? I know, you're shocked, again. Any idea where you think she wants to go????? (Answer after her picture, so think fast)
She wants to go to Disneyworld. I say we all go pick her up once the princesses are converted!
Kelden had no idea where he could go so I started naming places: France, Canada, California, Utah-he stopped me right there and repeated Utah!
I wonder if he thinks missionaries in Utah don't have to get dressed...
