Wedding Reception

We went to Kristen and Ira's wedding reception at Uncle George's. The next day there was also a party for Granny so I'll start with a picture of the celebrated people...

...and the hostess.

When we first arrived we were pleasantly surprised to see Jenna !!! I don't think I had already met her, but I still felt like I knew her. Do you know that her first child will be Granny Scott's 85th great-grandchild? (And her niece or nephew coming soon will be #86!). When I had asked Granny what number Julia would be (back in 2006), she had said 25...

I don't know if my kids recognize Jacob, he's grown quite a bit. Here he is again with Uncle Steve and Michael, Aunt Carol's friend.

Someone my kids do recognize is Aunt Carol! Here she is with Amanda.

And since I already put half of the Wilson family, here's the other half:

They were missing Elder Wilson, of course. Out of all of Granny's kids, they told me they were only missing Hunter, Chris and Chum, but Chum was there the next day. So not too bad. Let's see if I got them all with my camera...I already put Aunt Carol and this is who else I have:

So, who's missing?
I do have pictures of the next generation, but I don't have everyone. Here are (some) of the Imhoffs:

And here are random pictures with Mike and Mark, Shelly and Noah.

Not surprisingly of course, the kids were not interested in visiting with family, nor eating Chinese food for that matter.

All they wanted was to play in the bouncy castles.

There was also a pool party, but we were too worried about the crazy little cousins (and I think rightly so). Poor Darren was the only adult brave enough to stay in the pool with them for over 2 hours..

He did get out eventually!

I wish I could finish with a group picture, but I didn't give my camera to anyone to take it so this one will have to do.

The Sleepover

We had Linda and Bruce over the other night. I didn't get good pictures, but here's what I got anyway.

I guess I didn't take enough pictures of Kelden, but he had fun too; Linda agreed to watch one of his favorite movies: Star Wars!

Happy Birthday Will !!!

Today is Will's third birthday. We made one of his mom's recipes (lava cakes).

I think he already had a birthday celebration but we hope he still had a good day today!
Here are pictures of the last time we saw Will, earlier this year.

Happy Birthday !!!

Visitors

There were some visitors last week-end. We met the Kings at the cottage, ready to bring them (and others) tubing.

Julia and Kelden tried the other tube.

Julia got scared as she literally flew into Uncle Jeff' s arms. Kelden hung on tighter I guess. He was also braver as he jumped and swam from the trampoline to the shore and back before Julia decided to go for it.

But Julia was a very good paddle boat captain.

When she heard Uncle Ben and Aunt Laurel were coming to town, she said: "I'm going to have Smarties! Uncle Ben always brings us Smarties." When I told her he might have forgotten, she said: "No, he won't forget. He can't. He didn't last time."  Despite bringing her Smarties, she wouldn't give him a kiss ! Until finally....

And now, just for those of you who don't have Facebook, here's La Marseillaise, proudly sang on Bastille Day (last Monday).

Julia now wants to learn the Switzerland's anthem for her European cousins ! I don't think she realizes that her American cousins also live in a different country. Maybe she thinks Utah and California are just other provinces :)

3 Days With 4 Vaughans

Growing up I always thought that if I was able to have children, I would have a large family. Maybe because I admire my dad so much, I thought I would, like him, have six children and maybe, like him, lose one (although I was thinking more miscarriage than still-birth). I have been able to have children, but I haven't been able to realize the dream of a large family. This week I got a really mini-tiny glimpse of what it might have been like to have a large family as 4 of the Vaughans' kids stayed with us during the day for three days. Like I said, only a tiny glimpse. I was so proud though, going outside and having people look at me, thinking: "Wow, this woman is incredible! 7 kids! How does she do it?" (OK, they probably actually were thinking: "This woman is crazy! 7 kids! I wonder if they're all hers or if she has them only for the summer vacation..").
Anyway, here are some pictures of those 7 kids. The boys:

The girls:

They sometimes played together:

We all survived and we're all still friends :)
