Happy Halloween !!

We started celebrating Halloween last week, with the church party.

There was a craft room, a haunted house and trick or treat.

This week, Keld carved the pumpkins. He started with the boys' choices. The next day, Julia tried to help with hers.

Then yesterday, I went to the school to attend their party. It was nice to see Zack in his class. His teacher is the lady holding him up. He was at the back and he definitely isn't very tall for his age (even if he is in a class with both junior and senior kindergarten children, as is the law in Ontario).

I think he liked his first parade.

Kelden was happy to see me too.

I helped Julia with her hair. Her teacher was a grape (a cool idea I might steal, and not just because it is all purple :)

They also went trick-or-treating...kind of chaotic !

As soon as they got home that day, our neighbour came to bring the special bags of treats she prepares for them every year.

 And today, finally, the big day ! Rainy and cold, as is tradition, although Julia was able to go out without her coat...

They got a lot more candy than they will eat (yes, they're picky even with candy) but they are still super happy ! Keld also got candy from a new neighbour.

Well, he deserves it !

Happy Birthday Sawyer !

Julia told me to make cookies to form an -S for Sawyer but I made brioches instead. Keld and Zack were already in bed when I took the video (I did it after my class).

We know she started celebrating earlier, but we still hope she had a great day!!

Happy Thanksgiving !!

We had a busy Thanksgiving week-end. We had the big meal at Special's. Keld took the pictures, so this is what you get:

Keld took advantage of his time off to tidy up his shed and garage.

 Now that the table is finished, he is working on the chairs.

We also went to say good bye to Granny Scott who is leaving this week.

Then we went back to Special's for leftovers.

And Marley helped with the dishes!

Happy Purple Anniversary !

General conference is always a great time and the October session is even more special with our anniversary, but this year, it was quite intense.  I've been wanting to paint our kitchen/dining room/accent wall and was going to do it as a project while all the kids are in school but, feeling very unsure about it all, I asked Keld if he would show me some tricks. My thought was that he would help me for the one wall on Saturday morning (or more if we had time) and I would do the rest the following week. I, being a beginner, didn't think it was such a big deal to do a little bit and continue later. Keld, being a pro, couldn't stand opening the can of paint just to have to wash everything a few minutes later. Once he had started, no one could stop him. Or maybe he kept going because he liked the way he painted better than mine...
Anyway, he started early on Saturday morning (not that he could sleep in with all my coughing) and did it all in one day, with our help, of course !

We went from the very impersonal boring brown to the colourful, character-filled plumville colour.

And that's how we got a purple anniversary !

We didn't wait for Buzz and Woody this time. We were busy enough, we barely had time to take breaks at the hotel.

We did take some time the last night to play at the arcade since we had coupons and cards given from people who had points left.

Maybe next time Zack will be tall enough to do more games!

Animal Kingdom

We brought my sister on a safari!

The kids also became wild adventurers, looking for clues, deciphering secret codes and learning all about nature.

We met some strange people along the way.

And some of us got wet...
