Gillies Lake Fun

We went to the free activities at Gillies Lake this week. It doesn't start till noon, so Keld dropped us off at the dinosaur park where we waited and had our pick-nick.

We walked to the lake, went to the Hydro-One trailer and then got Beaver tails !

We tried the mini-putt. You got a bracelet each time you got hole in one. The kids all have bracelets.

Then, it was bouncing castles...

....and climbing.

We finish with high-tech, and more min-putting.

We walked home and did get some rain, but it could have been worse!

School is done !!

Another school year is over! Julia had a hard time saying goodbye to her friends and teacher.

(This one is for those who think Julia is tall)

Kelden is not that emotional.

Zack graduated this year and is now ready for grade 1. They had a graduation ceremony at the beginning of the week. He was pretty proud.

Good job!!!

Happy Father's Day !!

I hope Keld had a good father's day. He sure started with a favorite of his: naked pie.

The kids had made him some cards at school.

Kelden even made him a little book.

For his best memory with dad, he chose fishing.

We went to church were Kelden gave his first sacrament talk. Grandpa Bruce and Special came for some naked pie afterwards, so I got a picture of Keld and his dad on father's day.

For me and my dad, we'll go get something fomr the archives.

After the nap, we went for the traditional cemetery tour.  We all enjoyed it, despite the rain.

Happy Birthday Becca !!

Auntie Becca hit a milestone yesterday: 25 !! We had lemon pasta and chocolate cheesecake.

Happy Birthday Uncle Jordan !!

Yesterday was Uncle Jordan's birthday and we did celebrate yesterday but I fell asleep before posting it. I got a little bit too much sun I think.
Anyway... I usually make a cheesecake but no one in the family wanted me to. It was pdday so Julia decided to make 32 cookies.

I have to say, I was surprised that 32 was barely enough for our Family Home Evening dessert.

We hope Uncle Jordan had a great day.

Track and Field

There was a track and field day for the grades 3 to 6 of the school. Kelden, who doesn't like to lose, chose the longest races (less competitors choose those). he ran the 200m, the 400m and the 800m. He won respectively 3rd, 4th and 2nd place (only 5 racers for the 800m, his strategy paid off!)

Julia ran the 100m and the 200m and also jumped. She won her 100m race but didn't get a ruban overall. She did get one for the jump as she got 2nd place.

Kelden got chosen to participate in the relay races against the other schools. He ran the 4X100m and the 4X200m.

Too bad the weather never cooperates...
