Work for Kelden

 Kelden has also started to work. Uncle James got him a cleaning job at Ford!

We went with him his first time.

It's not as glamorous as lifeguard (you have to be 16 for that) but he can choose his own hours! Good luck!

 We celebrated Parks' birthday today. Ryan said he likes chocolate. I'm not sure but that's definitely what we had.

Becoming a Lifeguard

 Julia took the lifeguard course last month.

It was over two week-ends and was pretty intensive. She was very stressed so we would go encourage her during her lunch break and made sure she had what she liked for breakfast.

She went to the pool in between the two sessions to practice and be able to swim 400m under 10 minutes. She passed with 15 seconds to spare (could you do it?) Congratulations !

She now gets to work at the pool!

Her next course, in a couple of weeks, is to become a swimming instructor. Good luck!

3rd Track Meet

 The third track meet was in Timmins as well and it was still cold. A good excuse to buy a new track sweater.

Julia participated in the 100m, 200m, 4 X 100m, and the 200m in the medley. She placed 3rd in the 100m.

She was also third in the 200m even if she didn't beat Kendra this time (who should teach her the shoulder finish position.)

 Scarlett turned 8 today.

We celebrated a bit earlier.

Ivanhoe 2023

 Like last year, we didn't go too far for our first camping trip.

This time, we got a site right on the beach.

There were a lot less bugs than last year, but still too many to walk the trails. So we went biking, played cards, enjoyed fires and had fun on the lake.

 

Mornings were definitely cold, but we would sleep in and eat inside. On Sunday, Sister Newton came to visit. On Monday, I was feeling a bit better so I got to try the kayak too!

I'm hoping next time I won't need my coat !
