Julia's Birth

Julia was born on November 4th at 4.41pm, 8 pounds 8ounces for 19.685 inches.

On the Friday, I had contractions early in the morning but they stopped and so Keld went to work. The next day, the same thing was happening. I had contractions but I thought they would stop like the day before, so Keld went to work. He was exceptionally working on Saturday because of the elections. Grandpa and Special brought me and my mom to the hospital around 9. When Aunt Tina tracked down Keld (he had to surprise a polling station for an audit so he coudn't say exactly where he was going and of course, he had no cell phone), he came and joined us. He had plenty of time, Julia wasn't coming fast.

In fact, she was going too slow. I was losing too much blood and so the gynecologist tried to speed things up by using the vacuum and the forceps.

We thought Keld would faint but he was fine and even cut the cord!

Finally a girl in the family ;)

Did you see that? She was already sticking her tongue out for pictures...

Baby Shower

The ward organized a double baby shower, for me and for Heidi. I didn't know if I was going to have a boy or a girl whereas Heidi had already given birth to a boy.

Grand-Père and Grand-Mère

I had a lot of visitors that year! My parents came for the birth of their first grandchild.

Géraldine and Matteo

I wasn't sure I should fly for my sister's wedding as I was 7 months pregnant so they came to us!

Work

Keld started his career at Ross, Pope and Company in 2005 and I started my supply teaching career that school year. Back then, I was hired by the English public schoolboard and even had a contract for 3 months teaching French and Spanish at the high school.

At the end of the day, I would cross the road and visit Granny Hayes.

If I find pictures of Keld at Ross Pope, I will add them!

Winter 05-06

My first winter in Timmins. I turned 28, made my first snowmen in my yard (people thought we had kids) and it's also the time we trained Spike (or tried to...)
