Scott Family Vacation 2012: At the Cottage -Together

I try to take pictures of everybody, especially aunts and uncles with their nieces and nephews, but, for some curious reason, my camera seems to have its favorite subjects...like my kids for example.

Or cute little people who don't get to be captured by my camera very often...

And, this time, for some reason, my camera liked Grandpa a lot...

I'm not sure why it avoided some people, maybe they were too busy for pictures.

But it also took pictures without me...

And now, to mark the end of my series of posts on our family vacation, here is another group picture.

Of course, the cottage is for those who like water, like frogs.

We like it too, even if it's too cold for some of us...

There was a new toy this year, the mat.

The kids also played with boards, thanks to Grandma Special's patience.

They were pretty handy to practice wake-boarding too...but just practice.

Caitlin was actually brave enough to try water skiing for real. Kelden decided a girl couldn't be braver than him and so he tried too.

He still has a long way to go to become a pro like his aunts and uncles...

But the kids still enjoyed the boat...

Although some, like me, just prefer the hot tub.

No, I wasn't going to put  a picture of me in the pool, Will is so much cuter !

Scott Family Vacation 2012: At the Cottage -Work

There's always work to do at the cottage (as anywhere else as well I guess). The kids are always willing to help, even if sometimes all they can do is give moral support.

They helped Grandpa build the new swing (the old one had passed away).

They helped Special with the gardening.

Special usually makes lunch, but one day, Julia and Kelden decided to do their own.

When the tractor came, it was Papa's turn to work.

All this work is so tiring...

The kids- even, or especially, the little ones- love to ride the "big machines." That's probably all Bruce would do if he could.

Kelden's favorite is this next one, because the whole family can go on it at the same time. Of course, I can't be on it and take the picture as well, but here is most of us.

I have lots of pictures of the kids riding the machines because they love it so much, but I tried to combine the best into one.

To keep up the party's spirit, Special painted faces several days during the vacation. The girls were impatient, but the boys liked it too.

In fact, Kelden loved his new face and would ask for the same every time.

It probably reflects his personality...

I actually have recent pictures of Granny for this post, since we visited her just last Sunday. Aunt Janet had already made it to Timmins and I hear more visitors just came !!

Granny is still the same young lady I met when I got married.

Scott Family Vacation 2012: At the cottage -Will's birthday

Our nephew/cousin Will turned one while in Canada. The birthday theme was bugs. The kids got all the necessary equipment to catch and study bugs.

To compete with the nasty real bugs that you see at the cottage, there were also disgusting fake bugs .

Some you had to eat.

The pinata was supposed to be a bug too.

Even the wrapping paper had bugs on it.
