With My Parents (Part One)

I put my parents to work as soon as they arrived ;) We had the missionaries over for dinner and then James and Ashley dropped their kids for a couple days of fun!

Looks like Julia's ready for a family muscle picture this summer...

We were lucky the weather cooperated and we could all go play outside! I did get to see Scarlett on her very first day with us !

The following week was quieter (but not quiet, you know us!).
We started with a talent show for Family Home Evening.

Kelden showed us some of his moves.

Julia sang and danced.

Zack did some gymnastics.

Keld's talent was in the garage.

Grand-Mère recited a famous fable from La Fontaine (she remembered more than I did).

Grand-Père's talent was to appreciate everyone and everything. Here's a picture of him enjoying peanut butter ice cream...

It was a good prelude to our week !!

Happy Birthday Joey !

We celebrated Joey's birthday a bit early since Keld wasn't going to be with us for supper tonight.

We hope to make more memories with Joey when he comes up this summer, because we don't really have many yet!

In the meantime, we wish him a very happy birthday !!

Happy Birthday Parks !!

It is Parks' first birthday and Zack has waited all month to celebrate. He would go to our calendar and look at the picture and ask me " What's his name again?" I hope he remembers it by the time Parks come see us !

Only Julia has seen him so far!

We're excited to meet him in a few weeks !!
Happy Birthday !!

Timmins Ward Talent Show 2015

The talent show was a bit more chaotic this year, I found. Lots of kids running on the stage made it hard to actually see or hear the participants. I couldn't even get a picture of the MC, so here's the best I have.

Since the bishop couldn't find a karaoke version of the song he wanted to do, Brother Provencher opened this year. (Next time, brother Provencher can play the bishop's song for him!).

Brother Poirier didn't have karaoke versions of the songs he sang, but he wasn't changing the words.

Here is a video of some of the talents.

There were quite a few songs.

But we also had Sister Sutherland sharing her passion about bees.

Brother Draper closed with a few songs as well. He included brother and sister Vaughan for his last one.

Track and Field

Last week, Julia had a track and field day at the Timmins Soccer Stadium. She participated in the 100m, 200m and the soft ball throw.

Zack and I went to encourage her, and everybody we knew. Keld came during his lunch.

She didn't win anything but she didn't seem to care at all.

I screamed all day, cheering for all the 3rd graders (Julia would tell me the names of the ones I didn't know.)

I didn't think Julia could hear me from where she started the 200m so I wasn't planning on cheering from the start and I didn't ask anyone else to do it. But as soon as the race started, everybody started cheering for Julia.

That was even better than winning ;)

Zack at School

Zack went to school for four mornings last week to participate in the program call: A Spoonful of Learning.

I thought he would prefer going to school rather than staying alone at home but, when at the end of the first morning I asked him if he wanted to go back, he said: No, I'm OK. His teacher asked him if he was coming back to see her, and he couldn't say no.

So he went the second day and I motivated him by saying that I would come pick him up with his cousins.

The third day, he told me that he had missed me just a little bit (I guess he didn't want me to think he hadn't missed me at all!).

He was having too much fun !

The last day, we stayed until lunch time so we could eat with Julia and Kelden. We waited while watching the new stars of the school !

It was pizza day and the principal gave Zack a piece. I think Zack will want to go to his office often !

Happy Birthday Keld !

Keld turned 35 last Friday. We had the family over for dinner. I had a major headache but I survived, no one complained about the jambalaya, except Keld, of course. He thought there weren't enough sausages because I didn't put all the ones he bought. Poor Julia, she did cut lots..

But, like I said, the guests, at least, didn't complain.

I don't have a picture of Brucey, he was actually outside most of the time. He didn't even come back for cake.

And none of the kids were interested in the gifts...

Keld was pretty happy to keep it all for himself.

Happy Birthday !
