We had a great Canada Day, even if the weather didn't look promising.
We started with the Ward Pancake Breakfast.
Then Keld took advantage of his time off to make some progress on his woodworking project (still trying to finish those chairs and table).
After lunch, we went to Participark to enjoy the City's free activities. We dropped our swimming stuff on our way and said hi to the dogs.
At the park, the kids enjoyed the bouncy castles first.
We then all went on a horse drawn wagon ride.
And finally, the kids enjoyed a pony ride. Kelden was very excited, Julia a little bit worried and Zack didn't want to do it at first, but they eventually all really thought that the wait was worth it !
On our way back we stopped for a swim. The water was warm enough for Keld to join us this time !
Happy Canada Day !

At the Cottage
We were able to go to the cottage today. I had promised Special I would weed her garden, so I went to work right away.
I asked Julia to take pictures of what they were doing while I was in the garden. Looks like they were having fun.
Keld came to help me but he was also busy.
He put the back seats so we can now all go together. Thanks James ;)
After lunch we had even more fun.
It wasn't so hot any more, but we still enjoyed the water.
No swimming though, maybe next time...

With My Parents (Part Two)
Of course, this year, June has been horrible, weather-wise, when it is usually pretty nice. So we've been playing inside quite a bit.
We have been going outside for walks despite the wind and the rain.
When the forecast didn't expect rain for 3 hours, we quickly walked to the Timmins Museum my Dad was so eager to visit.
We also made it to Gillies Lake for a picnic.
And finally felt it was good enough to go swimming.
Kelden and Julia are quite relaxed; they are done school for the summer, and, unlike Zack, are in no hurry for September.

Happy Birthday Uncle Jordan !!
No cheesecake this year but much better: a trip to the Temple, where we definitely prayed for Jordan.
I had brought a candle but I wasn't sure I could actually lit it in the hotel room.
The song isn't as fun without the kids...And to continue on the temple theme:
Happy Birthday Jordan !!

With My Parents (Part One)
I put my parents to work as soon as they arrived ;) We had the missionaries over for dinner and then James and Ashley dropped their kids for a couple days of fun!
Looks like Julia's ready for a family muscle picture this summer...
We were lucky the weather cooperated and we could all go play outside! I did get to see Scarlett on her very first day with us !
The following week was quieter (but not quiet, you know us!).
We started with a talent show for Family Home Evening.
Kelden showed us some of his moves.
Julia sang and danced.
Zack did some gymnastics.
Keld's talent was in the garage.
Grand-Mère recited a famous fable from La Fontaine (she remembered more than I did).
Grand-Père's talent was to appreciate everyone and everything. Here's a picture of him enjoying peanut butter ice cream...
It was a good prelude to our week !!

Happy Birthday Joey !
We celebrated Joey's birthday a bit early since Keld wasn't going to be with us for supper tonight.
We hope to make more memories with Joey when he comes up this summer, because we don't really have many yet!
In the meantime, we wish him a very happy birthday !!
