Riding bikes

At the beginning of the season, Julia asked for her training wheels again, even though she had learnt to bike without them last year. Kelden, even with training wheels, kept asking me to push him. I was the only mother on the block whose kids needed training wheels. And every other kid could even do all kinds of tricks. The mother of one of Kelden's classmates actually told him not to brag in front of us. That was it. The shame was too much to bear. Something had to be done.
We brought the kids to the church's parking lot. Just one session was enough for Julia to get back on track.

It took longer for Kelden...we practised and practised and practised again, with a proud Julia showing him how it's done..

 

Until finally, he did it !

We have been married for 12 years now. A good excuse to put up pictures of us.

A Season of Change

As fall is coming, it's time to play with the leaves. Julia is quite sad because we don't really have lots of them. She still wants to rake and jump in them.

She was therefore delighted at Sister Poirier's.

Seasons are changing, but other changes are happening, too. Like Zack deciding that baths are not so bad after all.

He first decided this summer, after a couple of months though, that the pool could be fun.

I need to say that I took these pictures less than a week ago, two weeks after these "Terry Fox walk" pictures:

You may not be able to tell, but that day it was snowing. That day also showed me how Julia has changed this year. She barely said hi to me and I walked with the teachers most of the time until I told her she could hold hands with Zack since he came all the way to see her. Kelden, on the other hand, has been having a hard time. He always wants me to come have lunch with him...
Anyway, another change: a change of looks. The "before" pictures:

Labor Week Trip: Random

I still have a few pictures left from our trip South. Some are Kelden's, and you will probably find his pretty easily...

Some would be pretty good, if Keld was watching !

Franco-ontariens

Today is the anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag. The kids were all ready in green and white (although you might not be able to see in the picture that Kelden's pants are greenish).

I wish they had told me at what time they were going to sing at the school, I would have gone ! As usual, I had them sing at home anyway and I think they sang better than last year.

My kids are definitely proud of being French-speaking Canadians and keep telling me they are not French. Well, guess what, you are French, whether you want it or not and I have official proof !

On the other hand, I also have official proof that I am Canadian, whether I think like one or not...

Labour Week Trip: Cousins

On our way home, we stopped by Aunt Linda's and Cousin Lee's. We were early enough to go to the pool.

Then we had supper with everyone. We had the girls'table and the boys'table.

It was very good, spaghetti and chocolate éclair cake...After supper they played with the marbles for a bit and then we said good bye to Aunt Linda, Uncle Gerry and Jesse.

We spent the night at at Lee and Dave's. We had lots of fun, the kids really enjoyed it.

Thank you very much !!! We will come back !!

Happy Birthday Linda !

Today is Linda's birthday, but we celebrated two days ago already. She had invited us to a pizza party.

She had a princess cake, that Special made (not me of course, I could never do that).

I hope we sang better this time...

We couldn't wait for her dad to open the presents.

Julia got jealous, of course, but she, and the boys,  liked their goodie bags !
