Happy Birthday Bruce !

Today, Bruce is 4.

He celebrated before Grandpa Bruce and Special left; they would have missed both of them, even if my pictures seem to show a preference...

Everybody had lots of fun.

Special had brought dessert.

After the presents, a little bit of construction was required.

Happy Birthday Bruce !

March Break

We didn't save the best for last as the kids started March Break with a sleepover at Special and Grandpa's. They had lots of fun with some Easter activities.

It's never too early to start celebrating Easter (or eating mini-eggs!).

We actually had a lot of treats this week. After his night at the hospital, Keld brought us back doughnuts for breakfast.

There also was a lot of popcorn at the cinema, but I don't have pictures of that :)

What else did we do this week that didn't include eating ? Well, we tried to go swimming, but it's been cancelled. We did go skating a couple of times.

Julia went once with her friend Avenlea.

We would have liked to go play outside more but Kelden still can't walk properly and it is so icy that I am worried. So we've been coloring and playing board games.

I think they have fun just being together.

And I love having them home !

New Look

Julia finally got her new glasses. We were supposed to get two frames for the price of one and when they quoted us the price for those two pairs, they said that the lenses would be thinned. However, when we went to get those glasses, Julia's eyes popped out big time. She now has a 6.5 prescription, which is higher than what she used to have, but they said that what made her eyes popped out was because the lenses were not thinned to the max. I didn't realize there were degrees of thinning. Apparently, there are, and they usually don't thin them as much for kids. But they had done it last time for Julia and so we asked them to do it again. This, of course, costs a lot more, and we were at our limit for our reimbursement, with just one pair. So one pair is all she gets.

She has a big head, so none of the kids/youth glasses fit her and she always has to get ladies's glasses even if they are big. She doesn't mind, she's also buying ladies's clothes.

Kelden also wore his glasses yesterday, for Hawaii day!

He's ready for March Break !

Cast and Piano

Kelden had his cast removed yesterday. The doctor said it will take another 4 to 6 months before it is healed completely. He shouldn't be jumping or playing any sports, except sports like swimming (but no jumping in the water), for at least two months. So he should be ready for spring. (Let's hope spring is ready for him).

I also wanted to put a couple of videos showing Zack doing his piano homework. He does it almost every day.

I wonder if he would still be a bit young to start real lessons this fall...

Winter Festival

Next year, if I'm not taking classes, I'll be able to go and enjoy as much of the music festival as I want! But this year, I didn't want to make it too hard for Zack who did his best at staying quiet and at walking in the cold. He wasn't feeling super well, so we only listened to Julia and Kelden's songs (and whoever competed against them + the comments) and walked the least possible. On the first day we got a ride from Keld who dropped us after the dental hygienist.

We hurried so much that we arrived before Julia's class. They sang about pizza and Terri (whose daughters were in another competing school) and I were very hungry by the end!

For the way back, we walked to the school where Keld picked us up as he was getting Kelden for his piano lesson. We did the same today (although this time we walked there first). Kelden started with a pique-nique song. Again, about food!

Julia's song was adapted from a famous La Fontaine's fable. (Yes, there was food in that one too, but only cheese).

After that, Zack and I got out but had I known, I would have tried to stay a bit longer: Mme Gisèle (who Zack might have next year- 50% chance, there will be only two junior kindergarten teachers) was coming soon after.

I hope they won :) Both Julia and Kelden did, but I find it very sad for the ones who don't win.
And here is one last video: Julia skiing.

Keld wants to bring Kelden next week. I'm not so sure..

Family Day

We had a fun-filled Family Day yesterday. In the morning we went to Cedar Meadows to feed the animals. It was great, a bit cold but we were dressed appropriately and we knew there would be hot chocolate afterwards!

In the afternoon, we went sliding with the ward (with the brave members of the ward I should say).

Julia had been asking to go sliding, but with Kelden's leg...so she was really happy and Zack really enjoyed racing his grandpa.

Of course, Kelden didn't slide. He stayed with Aunt Tina and Special at the Church, where we joined them for games and supper.

I was talking to another French-speaking member and so I was going on and on and on and Keld got bored...He asked if he could go outside. I didn't see why not. Even after he told me his plan. I just kept talking. Cadie was nice enough to send me the videos of what happened while I was talking away...
