Happy Birthday Zack !

Zack had two birthdays under COVID restrictions and so he was happy this time to be able to invite extended family. We went to the church as he wanted to play hide and seek with his gifts and have a NERF war.

We had celebrated earlier as we were away the week-end of his birthday but we had kept a gift for the real day and we had chinese food this week with Special and Grandpa (who was away when we went to the church.)

Thank you everyone !

General Conference Week-End

I was proud this week-end of general conference because this time, I remembered the big coloring page (and I even knew where I had put it!)

Julia didn't help, she made her own drawings...

We still had our tradition of words associated with candies (and no, we had not chosen MISSION...) A neighbor also brought us some bread!

We tried to stay awake!

Between sessions, Zack got a much-needed haircut. Thank you Aunt Ashley!! Here is a before and after pictures.

Julia was invited on Saturday night by one of the friends she went to see at the Festival. She had just played Dancing Queen on the piano and so her mom bought her a crown.

A busy week-end but apparently not long enough to finish the coloring page...

The Festival

Both Kelden and Zack participated in the Porcupine Music Festival. They each played one song on the piano and each of them got first place!

Granted, Kelden had no competition :) He was the only one playing a level 6 song. Most of the people his age are in a higher level than him (although it is hard to tell as the level 7 people were playing Fur Elise, which is in his level 6 book..) It doesn't matter, we are very proud! He can now play many hymns without practicing first.

Zack, on the contrary, had a lot of competition. He was "against" 4 others in his group and then I think 5 other children played the same song in another group. I guess they divided it so it wouldn't be too long for parents to wait. Zack got the best mark of all of them. It's problably because it was a song that is under level 1 (Prep B) and so most of the players have just started piano while Zack has already 6 years of practice under his belt...

If Zack seems to be moving slowly in the different piano levels, it might be because he is more interesting in playing the following song rather than the songs from the books...

The song was so long that we had to make it double speed to be able to post it. He can't play it that fast yet, obviously, but it's still pretty good!

Primary Activity

The Primay organised outside activities at church last Saturday.

I had to stay home with Ryan who was sick. Yes, again! It kind of ruined the vacation week and the back to school week as he contaminated everyone. Keld tested himself and it doesn't seem to be COVID but, for us, it's worse.

Snowshoeing

Keld took a couple of days off to be with the kids a little bit during March break. He brought us snowshoeing at the cottage. Well, Ryan didn't need snowshoes but (as you will see in the pictures) the rest of us sure did.
