More Parties

Years ago, we went to bring a dessert to our friend Vanessa who had earned what would be considered her G1. It's quite difficult in France and pretty expensive. We couldn't afford to get ours but we were happy for her!

For Julia, we made a Kinder cake as that's what she wanted. We patiently collected Kinder chocolates (good thing it was around Halloween) trying not to eat them all before making the cake.

I think Ryan likes that kind of cakes too!

And, since I'm talking about party times, here's a little bit of the concert we attended for my work party. It's a franco-ontarian group that my colleagues knew quite well. I did recognize lots the songs as the gym teacher plays them at school.

I would have known the words better where my sisters went...

Happy Birthdays

We celebrated Kelden and Julia's birthdays together as we were late for both.

For Julia, 16 means she can drive now!

Watch out !!

Cross-Country

Cross-country season was pretty short for Zack. He had three races; one I already talked about, one he missed because he was sick and one at Iroquois Falls. His team was 3rd and he was 2nd for his school.

Kelden and Julia had a few more races. Kelden went to Rumble on the Rocks in Sudbury on September 27th.

Then, it was October 6th, Cobalt. Julia's team was 2nd.

They left October 11th for a race in Uxbridge the next day.

The 21st was Opishing.

NEOAA (qualifications for the provincials) was on October 25th. Julia, who always arrived 4th of her school, thought she would qualified but that day she came in 6th. So she wasn't qualified to run but she was allowed to go to the provincials as a spare. Kelden, on the other hand, did better than usual (arriving 3rd from last) and was qualified.

Students who qualified were allowed to continue the practices. Here are a couple of pictures of practices.

Although very disappointed, Julia was quite excited to go to OFSAA (the provincials) to buy some legendary hoodies.

Kelden was 224 out of approcimately 250 I think.

I think they will try again next year!

My Birthday

I turned 45 on Tuesday. Sister Newton made us supper, with a chocolate cake for dessert.

We celebrated yesterday with the family. Unfortunately, I was sick (still am...)

Thank you everyone !!
