Our "True" Christmas Tree

For some reason, we started decorated for Christmas early and we noticed that some of the lights on our artificial tree were broken. So we decided to go on an adventure. The kids and I were quite excited. Keld loved the work too :)

Choosing the ideal tree is not as easy as I thought. We had to decide at some point.

We all helped to carry the tree.

But Keld did all the cutting.

And we're ready to go.

Once at home, we realized we could have chosen smaller...

It looks really good with the decorations on but you won't believe me.
I haven't been able take a picture that really captures the very literal magnificence of the tree.

It's definitely better in "real" life.

There's no title for this post..

The week after Kelden's baptism I volunteered at the school library for the book sale. I was there every day of the week, going home with the kids around 3.30, except for Wednesday. Wednesday was teacher-parent interview time, from 4 to 6, so we were opened and did pretty good. To reward my hard work, the librarian gave me a coupon to buy books and other "gadgets." She also bought me hot chocolate every day (we should have book sales every month :)

They have all already finished their books but we keep reading. As a family, we are reading the Harry Potter collection (in French), we just finished number 1.
Some of you might wonder how I talked to the teachers if I was busy in the library. Well, I sent Keld. He was a lot faster than me as, for him, talking to the teachers mean waving at them to get the thumbs up...
On Friday, we cleaned up and took a break for the Remembrance day ceremony. It always makes me cry.

So I had a busy week. A few people were encouraging me to go back to supply teaching as I enjoyed being at the school every day, seeing my kids and everyone they know! I'll think about it. Today, there is no school! So we made sure the homeschooled kids we know had a break too!!

And I wanted to finish with a couple of art pictures that I don't think I posted.

3 Birthdays and 1 Baptism

Our family likes November. It starts with my birthday, which we celebrated at Special's. Grandpa Bruce was missing, but he had a good excuse, he was picking me up a gift.

Then, it's Julia's birthday. She turned 10 this year. Keld and I went to school to bring cupcakes.

She had sent a couple of pictures to give Special ideas for her cake. She was very surprised and so happy to get exactly what her first picture looked like!

As you can see, she was spoiled. We even rented the pool so she could show off her new tail!

We celebrated Kelden's birthday all week-end. Keld and I went to the school on Friday.

We had the family over on Saturday.

He too got exactly what he asked for a cake: a roller coaster. He got that idea from his recent trip to Disneyland. Canada Screaming!

Kelden was baptized on Sunday. He was very happy and we were very proud. Both him and Julia played the piano.

Kelden was disappointed with this practice performance and unfortunately, he didn't do better after. I think there were too many people around him. But that's ok.

Thank you everyone!

Happy Halloween

We celebrated Halloween at school first. They had a couple of competitions: doors and pumpkins.

I went to see the parade.

Then, we celebrated at church.

And finally, at home. Keld carved our pumpkins and found a plan C for Julia's costume.

I think they got at least one year supply of candy!
