Labor Week Trip: Random

I still have a few pictures left from our trip South. Some are Kelden's, and you will probably find his pretty easily...

Some would be pretty good, if Keld was watching !

Franco-ontariens

Today is the anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag. The kids were all ready in green and white (although you might not be able to see in the picture that Kelden's pants are greenish).

I wish they had told me at what time they were going to sing at the school, I would have gone ! As usual, I had them sing at home anyway and I think they sang better than last year.

My kids are definitely proud of being French-speaking Canadians and keep telling me they are not French. Well, guess what, you are French, whether you want it or not and I have official proof !

On the other hand, I also have official proof that I am Canadian, whether I think like one or not...

Labour Week Trip: Cousins

On our way home, we stopped by Aunt Linda's and Cousin Lee's. We were early enough to go to the pool.

Then we had supper with everyone. We had the girls'table and the boys'table.

It was very good, spaghetti and chocolate éclair cake...After supper they played with the marbles for a bit and then we said good bye to Aunt Linda, Uncle Gerry and Jesse.

We spent the night at at Lee and Dave's. We had lots of fun, the kids really enjoyed it.

Thank you very much !!! We will come back !!

Happy Birthday Linda !

Today is Linda's birthday, but we celebrated two days ago already. She had invited us to a pizza party.
Here are some of her guests:

She had a princess cake, that Special made (not me of course, I could never do that).

I hope we sang better this time...

We couldn't wait for her dad to open the presents.

Julia got jealous, of course, but she, and the boys,  liked their goodie bags !

We hope you had a great birthday !

Happy Birthday Aunt Ashley !

Today was Aunt Ashley's birthday and we celebrated tonight.

Mom cooked a wonderful supper, even if, like the rest of us, she's not feeling too good right now. And she made pies ! Thank you !

We did horrible at singing. I have a very sore throat and, excuse number two, I was filming (you can't sing if you film otherwise you won't hear the others).

With cake, there was the opening of the presents.

The girls were more attentive to that part than the boys for some reason.

The kids had a lot fun together, even if Zack is still learning to share...

We hope you had a great birthday Aunt Ashley!

You don't change. Julia, on the other hand...

Labour Week Trip: The Temple

Uncle Jeff and Auntie Becca had offered to watch the kids while we went for a session at the Temple. The kids had been behaving so badly that I thought they were going to back down on their offer, but I'm glad they didn't ! We arrived on time and took some pictures.

I like that picture, even if Zack is not looking at the camera, he's looking at what's important. He was too sick to look good anyway, so we don't have pictures of him and the Temple, but I have the others !

We don't go to the temple often, so I work on family history to compensate. Have I already told you I have ancestors in a museum? There is a stained-glass work at the Unterlinden museum in Colmar, France with a couple of my ancestors on it: http://archihw.org/jean-steib  I'm glad my kids don't look like my side of the family...

We're planning on going back pretty soon, thanks in advance Special and Grandpa Bruce for watching the kids. I hope they will behave for you !!

Happy Birthday Special !

Today was Grandma Special's birthday. She came to our place tonight, with Grandpa Bruce + Ashley and her kids (who brought the cake). Uncle James had to work :(
The kids had fun together. Here they are before supper.

They were calm enough during supper, patient for the cake !

As you can see, we all liked it.

After, the cake, the gifts. I think that part takes a lot longer when it's a grand-kid's birthday.

Then, the kids played with costumes.

I guess they are ready for Halloween. We hope Special is ready for a lot more years of fun !

Happy Birthday !!
