Swimming Lessons

This fall we were able to put both Kelden and Zack in swimming lessons. I don't think we would have been able to get a third spot for Julia, but since she was going away anyway...

Kelden has the same teacher he had in the spring and she was really surprised by the progress he had made during the summer. It had taken him 3 sessions to complete one little level, but this time, after three lessons of this session, she knows he can get the next level ! Thank you Grandpa and Special for the pool, and thanks to the cousins who showed Kelden what they could do.

Before, he couldn't stay on his back very well, now look at him:

His "Superman" is also better:

Of course, he still has lots to learn!

Zack, on the other hand, is not progressing fast. I guess it was to be expected; he still doesn't want to take baths...He has a hard time putting his head in the water or letting go and swim on his own.

I went to practice this morning with him (during family swim) but he didn't want to let go for me either. At least he never asked for his water wings. He was more motivated when he saw other little boys swimming on their own. Maybe when his dad has some time, he'll go with him again.

He is better at putting his head in the water now that he wears this.

I wish swimming was free, like skating, we would go more often and he would be a real fish!

A Frozen Competition

For her birthday, Julia received a CD with songs from the movie Frozen, instrumental versions. So I told her we could have a little competition where she sings in English while I sing in French. She said everybody was going to vote for her ! Let's see if she's right.

This is Julia and the English version (the CD version seems slower than the movie version). It was too long, so I had to cut some of it.

This is Zack and I singing the French version. We didn't have any costumes, but we did do some actions. Keld filmed us a different way so that it wouldn't be too big. You get the whole song (if you're brave enough to listen to the whole thing).

Keld said that taking Zack with me was cheating but as the creator of the competition, I cannot be disqualified. I can only lose :)

Skating with Zack

Zack and I go skating once or twice a week (I like free things). We are not progressing rapidly, but it doesn't really matter.

On pdday, Zack was proud to show his siblings what he can do.

He shared the orange helping thing with Kelden who still has a hard time staying up. I think he tries to go too fast.

I wonder if he is going to be better at skiing. He is all ready to go with his dad and his sister. Zack and I will keep skating for now...

..if Julia and Kelden do all right, Keld will take Zack too !

Julia Turned Eight

Julia turned eight and was baptized on her birthday. We tried to prepare her for this big event. My dad had asked her to read 2 Nephi 31 and she made a video to tell him what she had learnt about baptism. I know it's in French, but many of you will understand it.

She also prepared herself by making her baptism dress (and the after baptism dress)  with Sr Poirier.

Keld didn't want to leave the building while the baptismal font was being filled so we had her birthday party at the Church.

Once again, she was spoiled!

After the presents, we changed and took some pictures but Keld had to go because he had forgotten a few things (like a towel...I was so focused on Julia that I didn't think about his things at all...).

He came back on time to preside, conduct and baptize !

Julia lifted up her foot so the witnesses told Keld to do it again.

Earlier in the day, Zack and I went to the school to celebrate as well.

I hope Julia had a good day and that, with time, she will appreciate the importance of the covenants she made on this specific birthday.

Happy Birthday Kelden !

Kelden told me to wake up early to put his presents on the bench so they would be there when he woke up.

He had asked for a Star Wars cake.

He was spoiled, again.

Zack was jealous and stole his R2D2 card.

He also stole his Darth Vader top. Kelden was able to put it before bed though.

Some of the guests:

Then, today, we went to the school.

Happy Birthday Kelden !!

My birthday !

No chocolate cake this year, but raspberries !!!

There was still chocolate involved though as I got some hot chocolate and a microwavable bowl to go with it !

And here are pictures of some of the things I received (yep, only some of them, I was spoiled!) starting with a great napkin for my collection:

Thank you everyone !

On to another year full of adventures !!

Halloween: Day Of

We went to the school Halloween parade yesterday. Here's Julia's class:

Kelden's class (he had a substitute teacher, a jedi in fact!)

Elsa found Olaf (well, she found quite a lot of Olafs but this one is her favorite, it's her friend Olivia):

There was only one Anna, though (that I saw).

I didn't take pictures of everybody but here is one on Julia's old teacher and the principal.

The principal was announcing the winning pumpkins. Here is Kelden's class's pumpkin:

Julia's:

And now one of the winning ones:

After school, we went to work.

And after work, the fun:

It was a long day !

Time for some rest now...
