Run, Bike, Drive

Julia qualified to participate in the relays against other schools.

I cheered for everybody I knew, mainly students from her school, Don Bosco. Her friends had the banners, the dance and the song!

Unfortunately, it started raining and Julia was frozen by the time it was her turn.

Faster than Julia is Zack...on his bike :)

And faster than them is Keld's new truck.

A Fun Day

The kindergarten students have been learning about jobs lately. Their teachers organized a visit to the fire hall and the ambulance station.

They then had a pick-nick and Keld joined them.

I stayed to watch the kids play in the park. Zack wanted me to take a picture of him on everything.

Zack's teacher's back doesn't hurt like mine!

It was a fun day !

A Talented Week-End

Europe was busy singing this week-end and so were we! The Timmins Symphony Orchestra had their last concert of the season. The Timmins Chorus, along with three schools, were invited to sing three songs (one in French, one in English and one in German).

Julia and Kelden wanted to participate so they practiced at school and then at the church a few times. I bought a ticket to go see them. I was pretty close to the front but because they were behind the musicians, it was hard to see them. Let's see if you can spot them.

You are not allowed to film the performances but I was told that you can take pictures when they are done and people clap. The problem is that that's when the musicians stand up, hiding completely the kids.

I asked Kelden and Julia to sing the songs at home. It isn't the same without the music, obviously. Kelden was soprano and Julia was alto.

Zack was too young to participate but here are some of his talents. He is pretty good at playing bocce (the closest thing I could find to pétanque) and at reading at night, even when the lights are out.

No wonder he's been tired lately!

A Winning Week-End !

I don't know who won the most this week-end, between Keld and I going on a trip together, the kids sleeping over at Grandpa Bruce and Special's, the 134 names we brought to the Temple or Grandpa and Special who made it all possible!

Our great week-end started on Friday. Special came over right after seminary to put the kids on the bus. It was Julia's Track and Field Day. I had gone with Zack last year to see her but Grandpa and Special brought her more luck!

She won 3rd for jump and 2nd for the 100m. I have to admit that I was quite shocked. I had seen her practice the week before with one of her friends and she was way behind. She is so much shorter than everyone her age, I didn't think her short legs had a chance. She kept saying she was going to win though even if we kept telling her the Olympics motto; participating is the most important. She was determined and we are proud of her! (I guess it helped that there was a dance competition that day, which meant that that friend (and maybe others) weren't here to compete :)

Keld and I made it for a Friday night session and then spent all day Saturday in the Temple. The Temple president had scheduled to be with our stake for the sealings and we helped him do some of his own names.
They are working on the Temple, so I didn't take a picture, but here's one of us from last week.

We came back via  Bracebridge on Mother's Day. The kids had lots of things for me.
Julia made me flower chocolates.

Kelden made me a bracelet.

Zack decorated a cup for hot chocolate (not coffee, like the teacher kept saying).

And at church they prepared flowers (during Activity Day and Primary).

I couldn't take a nice picture of the three of them, they were too crazy after this week-end!

Happy Birthday Keld !

Thanks to Grandpa, we'll get this post on time! I forgot my camera but he brought it back for me (a good excuse to get some Carambars...).

We celebrated Keld's birthday after church. Aunt Ashley had offered to make the jambalaya. Thank you!!  This is the only picture I have of the food. Keld's plate is already clean, good thing I was having seconds!

Julia and I took some pictures of the guests. You might not guess who took what.

The pilot seemed pretty tired...but he did go to work after the party!
Mom had made the cake (and she had to prepare ahead because of Women's Day). Thank you!

Jordan was with us for the opening of presents.

Kelden said his gift was his first testimony at church today. He also fasted for the 24 hours for the first time and probably ate too quickly after because he didn't keep his lunch. He, however, still wanted two pieces of cake afterwards!

Kelden, for those of you who don't know, had a hard time with his dad being released as bishop. He doesn't remember his dad being called to anything else and thought he would be the bishop until he (Kelden) would replace him. And he wasn't ready yet! The new bishop, Bishop Tinney, took some time to talk to him today to tell him that, in reality, Keld is a bishop for life.

Happy Birthday !!
