School at Home

The Premier announced today that the children were going to go back to school with little change except for the mask (for all children Zack's age and older). I was a bit disappointed as I wouldn't have minded a good excuse to keep the kids home a couple months longer. They seem to like school at home. Julia just finished her summer class on Tuesday and Wednesday, we were all at school again :)

We started with math.

Then art.

It took us some time to get these chefs d'oeuvre finished, so we had lunch after. Then back to school for an hour of physical education. The teacher had set up a few different stations.

We were too tired for the English class (we'll start our new book later :)

In the Summertime

We've had very hot days and very rainy days so far this summer. We don't complain when it's hot (we can handle it after the winter) and we definitely know what to do when it rains !

I've been playing board games with the boys and I have also been reading to them. We finished Trail and Resistance and we are now in the middle of the ocean waiting for sharks...

Julia only reads because she has to. So it's a good thing she signed up for summer school and took French. She can read by herself, although I read Cyrano de Bergerac to her.

Despite the amount of work (a whole semester to do in less than 4 weeks), she always has time for snacks and drawing..

Young Women COVID Camp

This year, Julia didn't have to sleep in a cabin! The camp was a series of video calls.

COVID, as you can see, meant Continually Overcoming Via Inspired Decisions.
I don't have pictures of all the activities (Julia didn't really let me be part of the camp) but my favorite definitely was Friday (the chocolate chip cookies, although I missed Keld's talk since I had to entertain Ryan..)

I'm glad they were still able to do something despite the circumstances.

The Garden

Again this year, we have planted a garden. We actually started inside this time.

It's all outside now.

It's been growing pretty well, we're excited!
