My Son, The Musician

Kelden really likes music. Any tool is a musical instrument to him. A screwdriver is wonderful as a flute or clarinet.

Anything can be used to play the drum, but this is his favorite:

Here is a little video of Kelden singing and dancing. It's too bad he gets shy when he knows I'm filming, but it still gives you an idea of his love for music.

March Break

Last week Julia didn't have school and since I'm such a cool mother, we had lots and lots of activities prepared so she would have tons of fun...

We first went camping:

We went to the movies:

We had pinics with the animals:

In fact, we had too much fun, we had to stop and take naps:

OK, she took naps because, like any good student, she was sick during the holidays:

But, and again like any good student, she got better (probably thanks to the hot chocolate as you can see) and worked on her homework:

I hope she enjoyed her week and maybe next year I will actually be prepared with outside activities for a change!

Barbie's Birthday

You probably all had forgotten, but last Sunday was Barbie's 12th birthday. Yeah, that's right, at least according to Julia. I think she felt bad that we had forgotten about Simon's birthday the other Sunday...
She reminded Special on time to get a present (a "ruban" for Barbie's hair) and made sure we had cake and candles ready.

As you can see, we had three guests with us to celebrate Barbie's birthday. I have to say that they are the best guests ever. Know why? They don't eat cake! They leave it all to me :)
Anyway, next year we should have a real birthday party in March, right Ashley?

Spring, officially

Since we are now officially entering the spring season, I shouldn't have any more pictures like these to post...

...right?

This morning Julia thought that she would be able to go back to school in shorts and sandals, but when she saw the falling snow, she told me that it wasn't spring after all...The calendar is a liar.

Carnival and Hockey

Last Friday was Carnival Day at Julia's school. Kelden and I went to see what that meant. I was surprised that there were no costumes involved as the teacher had told me that it would just be games. I guess this is Carnival the Canadian way. Julia was to play inside in the morning and outside in the afternoon. So we chose to go in the morning. It was cold and Kelden kept telling me to stop bouncing the stroller (but I was just trying to push it through the snow). When we arrived, Julia was playing hockey, or at least she was trying to. Then she had a break and the gym was free for Kelden to play hockey, or at least try to.

I tried to tell him that he needed to push the ball, but he didn't seem to care.

It was easier just to hold the ball.

We eventually had some action!
You are probably wondering why I go to Julia's school and come back with pictures of Kelden..Well, Julia didn't want her picture taken. I do have two pictures of her though. And you can try to guess what she is doing or where she is.

When Linda Comes To Play

Last month, Linda came to play a few times (for example, since Special was away, we babysat her when her Mommy needed to go to the doctor). I tried to take pictures of her and Kelden together, but it's not that easy. They either play on their own or fight for the same toy :)

They enjoy being together though! And Julia loves Linda too (well, who doesn't?).

But Julia is usually away when her cousin comes, which is probably fine with Linda who gets to wear all the jewellery she wants.

I am wondering now if she is going to have to share the queen title with a sister! I guess we will know very soon!!!!

Being Sick Stinks

Remember reading that somewhere? Yes, that was Allison's line. What can I say, she was right, once again. I know I haven't been as sick as she was but still, March hasn't started really well for me. I had a cold with a high fever and now my first experience with sinus infection. If I had any say in the matter, I would also want it to be my last experience. I wasn't going to post anything about it, because, as you know, I never ever complain. But Grandpa Bruce said I should tell the whole world so people feel sorry for me and pray lots. So, people, feel sorry for me and pray lots :) And for Kelden. He got my cold. Las week, we tried to stay in bed most of the time, sleeping hand in hand.

I know Jeff, the picture is noisy/blurry, etc. But remember, I am sick!
The other two, Keld and Julia, have been trying to avoid us. They made their own cabin to hide away from us.

I'm not jealous of the cabin..just of the good sleep Julia gets in it!

It's a bit crowded, but like I said, she sleeps well and that's what matters. I hope this week Kelden and I will recover fully so we can enjoy March Break with her the week after!
