Outside Fun

The boys need more snow for their fort and slide of the front yard. We got some this past week and Thursday was a snowday.

We've been enjoying the outdoors on the week-ends without going too far. We went behind Zack's school and also behind Granny's place.

Kindergarten Registration

We are missing quite a few important events because of the pandemic, some more important than others. And in between, there is the kindergarten registration. I really enjoyed bringing Julia, Kelden and Zack to school to register them. The teachers make it a special day (they don't have their regular students) to welcome their future pupils. They show them the classes (and all the toys) while parents fill out the papers. They take their pictures and give them gifts. The children can stay as long as they want. It's a great first experience with school! This year, however, I registered Ryan online and gave Zack the papers needed to bring to school...

All I could do was taking pictures with matching outfits..

We'll see when Ryan actually gets to go to school. Usually, there's a program in May for the new-comers but he probably will miss that too.

Primary at Home

We haven't had Primary classes on Sunday for almost a year! Our leaders, however, are not forgetting the kids. Like I have mentioned before, they drop us candy, food, activities and challenges. This month, the theme is snowman.

We received a few games involving snowmen and canvasses to paint snowmen (well, for those who can).

You may have noticed that Julia and Kelden got to participate, even if they are now too old for Primary! On the other hand, Ryan is now officially part of Primary, which means he is invited to learn the songs chosen for each month. Last year was easy for us to teach Zack. With Ryan, music is more of a challenge, especially in English! We are trying to interest him with some visual aids but it's not working wonders...yet.

We still have two Sundays...

Epiphany, skating and bread box

Our virtual week wasn't all about school. We also celebrated the Wise Men. Ryan loves finding fèves, especially Spiderman.

We went skating again, this time in the evening.

And Keld worked on a bread box which he finished on Monday. There are two levels, the shelf can be taken out as a cutting board. It's a bit big but that way, I can hide the cookies away from the dog ;)

And on to the next project...
