Temple with Kelden !

Last week-end, we were able to bring Kelden to the temple for his first time. On Friday night, they have the baptistry open from 5 to 9. We were the first ones to arrive so the brother in charge had time to explain everything to Kelden (as well as the changes for Julia). It was even more quiet the next day at 8am. So Kelden had time to relax and enjoy his first experience.

Saturday morning, after the temple, we went to see Brother McGinn. He was actually having a church meeting with the other residents and a very nice minister. We read scriptures and sang hymns with them.

Then we went to visit with Aunt Linda, Uncle Gerry and Jesse (cousin Lee and her gang were busy).

We went to church in Bracebridge and were back Sunday night. We brought back some ice cream for Uncle James, where Rocky, Ryan and Zack had been staying. It was Ryan's first time without us. It looks like it went well. He learnt classical dancing and ate some of his favorite things, although he was not nice on Sunday morning.

Thank you everyone!

Valentine and Family Days (Carnival and Skating)

After curling, we had lunch and then we went to the church for a winter carnival.

Keld had stayed home to study during Ryan's nap. He brought us skating after. Well, those of us who have skates. It was Ryan's first time !!

Valentine and Family Days (I Went Curling!)

Valentine's day ended up being a snow day, following a strike day and before Family Day. The kids may not have as many vacation days as in France but this year, they surely are spoiled!

My highlight for this week-end was going curling! After almost 20 years in Canada, I have finally tried that sport! Keld stayed with Ryan and the other 3 went with me.

There was someone to help us out and teach us a few tricks. We first started trying our balance with 2 rocks.

Then, with the broom (like you're supposed to).

The broom didn't help me enough, I fell. And again, being left-handed is my excuse. Most left-handed people are right-footed (and I think I am, I know I kick with my right foot at soccer).  So, with the slider on my right foot, I was really off-balance. I think Kelden had a hard time for the same reason. It takes us longer to adapt and find the necessary balance. Anyway,  the lady gave me something like a crutch, so it would be easier.

We had time to play a couple of ends. Zack and Julia against Kelden and I. The boys were much better by the end, but the phone was dead so I don't have videos of their best plays. I didn't improve much, especially not at sweeping!

It was lots of fun !!

10 Days with Aunt Catherine

Sounds like a good horror movie, right?
We had the cousins over for a few days, as well as Marley and Ivy.

The kids were really good and the dogs did their best :) I did too, but apparently, I could do better by getting rid of some rules (like cleaning up before supper or eating what's on your plate).

We had a strike/pd day, good and bad hair days, popcorn-movie nights, sick times, play times..a little bit of everything.

Keld left me for a conference in Toronto for a few days.

Str Newton helped with the driving. She even made a chocolate cake and gave us some fruits. Str Cooper also made us some spaghetti sauce. So, at least a couple of times, they didn't have to suffer my cooking!

When Uncle Keld came back, we went sliding.

And on Monday, Kelden had suggested we held a talent show. There were Star Wars fights, Lego building, gymnastics, math problems and dance.

They (kids and dogs) did miss their home and parents, but I hope it wasn't all that bad !
