Primary Activity

The Primay organised outside activities at church last Saturday.

I had to stay home with Ryan who was sick. Yes, again! It kind of ruined the vacation week and the back to school week as he contaminated everyone. Keld tested himself and it doesn't seem to be COVID but, for us, it's worse.

Snowshoeing

Keld took a couple of days off to be with the kids a little bit during March break. He brought us snowshoeing at the cottage. Well, Ryan didn't need snowshoes but (as you will see in the pictures) the rest of us sure did.

Stake Conference

Last week-end we had our stake conference. Elder Johnson wanted to treat the members of the presidency (including executive secretary and clerk) and their wives to the restaurant. Being 4 hours away (yes, it's 4 if you obey the speed limit) I didn't really want to leave our kids eating alone in the hotel. We're not the only ones with little kids (although some ended up not coming) so eventually it was decided that the meal would be at the church. Indian food for adults, pizza for the kids. Not fair, I know! The kids were done earlier and Ryan played with his friend Wren.

Since this time we had already checked in the hotel, I decided to stay there all day Saturday with Zack and Ryan. We explored the hotel, a real maze, watched some TV and for lunch, we walked to the McDonald's next door.

After that, Evan joined us and we went to the pool. Our hotel still had restrictions so we had to book but that way we were sure we had the pool for ourselves!

Then I followed the late afternoon session online until Uncle James came to get us to bring us to the church for dinner. They kept the winning menu from last time and even though they ordered less, we still had leftovers for lunch the next day.

Now, here are some picture from Julia. Unfortunately, she sends them in a format I can't see so sorry if some of them are sideways...

All this fun is very tiring...

When COVID Hits Our Family

A few days before the stake youth activity, I wasn't feeling well. I actually cancelled a couple of days of work . The two tests, however, were negative so I didn't think it was COVID and Keld and the youth still went on their trip. Unforunately, that Saturday, Ryan also got sick. If he wasn't sleeping, he was throwing up...

Kelden got sick that night too and by Sunday, no one was feeling good.

Julia seemed to be the worst. On Monday, she and Keld both tested positive (and obviously we all got hit.) So we had to isolate for a week (five days starting with day zero...) Julia had already made arrangements to follow classes online while I was sick but she was too sick to connect on Monday. She tried on Tuesday even if she still wasn't feeling great..

Zack's teacher's aid, who lives nearby, dropped off his homework and Kelden communicated with his teacher daily by email, Ryan by directly by phone. His teacher would always allow him to watch TV...

Being sick is not fun but there are good sides too! For example, people cooked for us! Thank you Auntie Becca (Sister Poirier for bringing it) and Sister Newton !!

And we were together for a whole week !

Tomorrow, it's back to school and work !!
