Goodbye September !

September is always busy at school. Zack and Ryan had their first celebration to introduce this year's theme, which, interestingly, is about momentum. The symbol chosen is butterfly and both Ryan and Zack were chosen to hold their classes' butterflies.

Their school also had their open house. Zack volunteered to welcome visitors. There was a quiz about the school and you could win a water bottle. Ryan won!

September is also the beginngin of fall.

We'd better enjoy it...we've felt the snow already!

X-Country

Kelden convinced Julia to join their school's cross-country team. So, of course, we had to buy her the jacket. Then, we realised we had to buy the T-shirt for Kelden and the bib for Julia + pay for all the races...A good thing the season is short :) They have been practicing since they started school. Some have spotted them here and there!

Zack also joined his school's team (and all for free!) Yesterday was the first race. It was in Timmins and Zack's sports teacher asked me to join them (as I am in his class for the time being.) Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for Julia's and Kelden's races but Keld and Aunt Ashley were there! Evan was there for Zack too.

Zack finished 21st out of 59 grade 6 boys. He ran 1660 meters in 8 minutes and 22 seconds. He was the second boy of his school.

Kelden was 12 out of 15. He ran 4 kms in 19 minutes and 10 seconds.

Julia was 12 out of 17 and ran 6 kms in 34 minutes and 22 seconds. Her team (they count the first four of each school to make a team and she was 4th for her school) won second place.

Despite what you can see in this last picture, it was not a day to go swimming in the lake. It was cold enough that it actually snowed.

Happy Birthdays !

We have celebrated 3 birthdays recently: Special, Aunt Ashley and Linda. Kelden took a few pictures for Special's, Julia for Aunt Ashley's (as I stayed with sicky Ryan) and I took for Linda's.

In the Congo !

Grand-père and Grand-mère have been in the Congo for a month now!

This picture was taken in Pointe-Noire but they are based in Brazzaville, at the mission office. My mom does a lot of paperwork and has to use the computer (she is now on Facebook:) My dad should be taking care of the finances but when I talked to him he hadn't been fully trained yet. He's been preparing Power Point presentations for the zone conferences.

Between our vacation and stake conference, I have only talked to them once (the time difference is only one hour less than in France so Sundays still work best) but they have sent pictures of their new décor.

Between meetings and appartment checks, they still have lots to discover!
