Family Long Week-End

Monday was Family Day. Unfortunately, it was very cold this week-end. We decided not to go to the outdour activities planned by the City but to go back instead to the curling open house, like we did last year. Since it had been a whole year, an instructor taught us again how to throw and sweep. I am not better than last year but Zack is pretty good.

Then, we went to celebrate Grandpa's birthday.

Happy Family Day !

Zack's Saturday Adventure

In order to make vaccination fun for kids, there were a firetruck, an ambulance and a police command unit at the library last Saturday. Unfortunately, after getting his second dose and playing the library's scavenger hunt, the firetruck was gone. But Zack still had fun.

He is defintely healthy!

Happy Valentine's Day !

Valentine's Day is a good excuse to say I love you and eat chocolate! Special gave us cookies, candies and made wonderful crafts for the grandkids with 10 things she and Grandpa Bruce love about them.

We got candy and chocolate at the church too. Our minister brother and sister also brought us some love.

This year they were allowed to share Valentines at school. Since the 14th was another snowday, only Julia went to school and Zack and Ryan got their cards today.

At home, we kept it pretty simple.

With Tania in our hearts! (following are pictures my sister sent me yesterday.)

Fun with Julia

Julia went with her dad last week-end as he was going to visit the Central Algoma branch, where lives one of her best friends. Other friends were visiting as well and she really enjjoyed herself.

She had to do some homework in the car as she now has projects for all her 4 subjects at the same time. She finds the "real" semester more demanding and even went to school these past couple of snowdays! On Thursday, she was the World Religions teacher's only student of the day  and so on Friday, he waited for her with candy and the VR thing (she used it to visit the Sikhs' Golden Temple for her project.)

And here is another couple of pictures of Julia during theme days (red for Team Canada and virtual learning dressing)

Go Julia !

Goodbye January!

Here are a few events I haven't mentioned yet and that happened in January. For example, Kelden was ordained a teacher.

We celebrated Granny Hayes' birthday with KFC !!

On the 27th it was Chocolate Cake Day and the Relief Society president herself brought me us a cake.

It was a very cold month (-40 a few times). A good reason to sleep in...

or participate in drawing contests!

I also started to supply for teachers as well as teacher's aids. I only do one school since I have to be there for the lunch hour every day anyway.

January was also still under pretty strict rules; 5 people inside. We had visited the grandparents just before the rules came into effect.

But we're hoping this year will get better!
