Disneyworld I The Hotel

We arrived in Florida after two relatively short flights (compared to crossing the ocean). Julia did complain about her ears but the hardest part was the 8 hour wait in a enclosed area of the Toronto airport. We wouldn't get lost in that part of the airport, even with our eyes closed. Anyway, we arrived at the hotel around 2am. Our room was well protected by two giant dogs.

There was another dog, but I don't think he was on duty. He was too busy watching TV. So busy he didn't mind my kids climbing all over him.

I have to admit that there were some good shows playing on his big TV.

That is something our kids really liked at the hotel; the TV. They have discovered the Disney Channel (we don't  have TV at home, we only watch movies) and something Julia was particularly interested in: commercials.

I don't know if Zack was jealous that his playpen wasn't facing the TV, but he sure hated sleeping in it. That was the most tiring part of the trip; he would wake up almost every hour and would be ready to go around 3 or 4. I would send Keld around 5 for a walk with him but one time Keld didn't wake up and so I put Zack in the bathroom area to play on his own.

Yep, wide awake when everybody else is sleeping. He must have enjoyed the room. We actually decorated it, well, at least the window, to do like everybody else.

The cleaning lady gave us balloons after we had already bought some! She was ready to give us four strollers as well, but we could barely fit ours in the room. She was really nice, but the best things about the hotel were:

1) the pool

Maybe it's because we're Canadians,
but we are not used to such heat
and it felt good to cool down in the water almost every day.

2) Our neighbors

We wanted to stay with them, but we got the Dalmatians instead. It's OK, they didn't mind us visiting them any time.

In this last picture, Kelden isn't mad, he is just being a dinosaur.

Well, as much as we liked our hotel, we didn't come all the way from Timmins to Orlando to stay in a hotel. So we got the kids ready,

waited for the bus,

and had fun at the Diney Parks. Lots of fun (you'll see in the next posts)!

Happy Birthday Linda !

Again, we are celebrating with Linda and photos will be posted later. For now, just my favorite picture of the Little Scott family when their daughter was just a few months old.

Happy Birthday Aunt Ashley!

We are together to celebrate Aunt Ashley's birthday and pictures will follow later. But just so you know that we didn't forget her, here are pictures of our favorite Aunt Ashley, before we called her "Aunt" Ashley...

She hasn't changed, she's still so pretty!

Happy Birthday Special!

Knowing that we wouldn't be able to celebrate Special's birthday on the right day didn't prevent us from having a dessert with candles anyway! We actually bought a special musical candle but I think it goes a little bit too fast for us.

This year, as you have probably noticed, I've been putting old pictures for birthdays. Here are the ones I chose for Mom.

She was teaching me how to cook. My mom never had the patience to, she thought I was a lost cause, especially compared to my 3 sisters. But Special has always had faith in me. And she's taught me a lot more than cooking! Thank you!

5 months

Zack is now 5 months old. He is approximately 27.5 inches for 18 pounds. I can see his first tooth (top right-his left) starting to come. He is still easier than the others, although he shares their difficulty to sleep through the night. He still needs a middle-of-the-night feeding and now stays up for an hour after! He doesn't cry but he is wide awake and talking away. We hadn't thought of that when we put him in the room with Julia, to get Kelden his own room because he was preventing his sister, tired from school, from going to sleep early.
Anyway, for pictures this time I thought I would put all the kids when they were 5 months or so.

OK I cheated, on the one but last, Kelden is one year-old. But I don't think Zack will fit in that shirt for his birthday...

Happy Birthday Uncle Jeff!!

Yep, that's right, we did celebrate Jeff's birthday before he left, but, eh, who says you can only celebrate once? Actually, I have two brothers-in-law born on September 11th, so we definitely had to celebrate today! Did I make 2 cakes? Well, I was still feeling too sick to make anything, but  I ended up not having to. The Little Scotts gave us cupcakes and Mom made a cake! (And then, for some reason, she got too sick to be able to eat it).
So here's the video of our well-practiced Happy Birthday song (even Kelden is starting to know it!)

The candle-blowing still needs practice. But notice that this time, I asked Keld to do the filming.
I don't know if when he looks at me now, Jeff remembers that when he first met me, I was taller than him! I'll just post one picture that really shows my first impressions of Jeff.

Someone funny who loves his friends and family!  (This is a picture he took at our wedding reception 10 years ago, notice all the noise :)
Anyway, Happy Birthday little brother!

End of Cottage Season

We might have gone to the cottage today if we hadn't got so sick this week. Julia had it last week, Kelden had it at the beginning of this week, and Keld and I followed, at the same time. That was the problem. We were so sick that Special came and spend 24 hours with us to take care of the kids. I will spare you the details and go directly to posting pictures of our last fun days at the cottage.

Rides in the trailer

Tube rides

According to Uncle James, the ride was pretty wild, it's just that when Kelden is tired, he falls asleep, no matter where he is.

If he's not taking a nap, he's being silly.

Julia doesn't take naps, she gets her nails done instead :)

And Zack has fun with his cousin, and his cousin's toys!

Now, a series of pictures from Julia

She's getting better ;)
Keld and James went in the lake last week-end and it was super-cold, outside, it only went up to 9 degrees (Celsius)
And that was their last time before next year!!
