Happy Birthday Emily !

We won't be late today to wish a Happy Birthday to Emily. We started celebrating yesterday.

And, no it's not just a chocolate cake. There are fruits in this one, because she likes fruits.

We hope you'll enjoy your special day.

Summer Vacation Is Over

School starts tomorrow (with a PDDay) so it's time to post all the pictures of these summer holidays that I haven't posted yet.

A Crafty Summer

It was a crafty summer for Julia especially. She has been having a lot of fun with her RainbowLoom creations.

She watches tutorials online (as soon as she gets up) and can now do pretty much anything.

She woke up one Sunday and made a bracelet just to match her dress.

But she also makes charms (minions, Olaf, etc.). She enjoyed the Relief Society's Christmas in July activity (so did I, maybe I'll make Christmas in July a tradition in our family). She came as Sr Poirier's assistant to help make these:

But she took advantage of being there to make some more crafts.

She also finished one of my Young Women's project (I was released before I was able to get it done): a scripture bag.

In case you think I have her finish all my projects, here's a picture of the two rag quilts I made this summer (thanks to Sr Walker for providing the material).

Kelden is not as crafty, but he still did some coloring and painting.

He had fun with his Lego and his Star Wars binder but I think I already posted those pictures so here's one that I haven't posted.

The Kayak Challenge

I had compulsory kayak classes in grade 5 (lake and ocean kayaking) but no, I did not participate in the challenge yesterday. Keld had to be there for the prizes so we accompanied him. It was a very nice day.

They tried to see if they could become pilots, like Uncle Jeff, but I don't think they're ready yet.

They both crashed into the ocean..
Zack didn't try the simulator. He did the laser tag and the inflatables. I don't have a picture of his favorite inflatable, the one where you race with someone else, but I have pictures of the other two.

He also got his face painted, after his siblings. For some reason he didn't want to do it at first.

More painting, for a Timmins mural.

There were free cotton candy but only Julia liked it!

Science Timmins was there too. They had a few activities, including these building things.

And they offered hot air balloon rides. We got free tickets for that. Keld and Julia didn't want to go so I thought I would bring the boys. I knew I wouldn't like it since I'm scared of heights but I thought I could do it. Turned out I couldn't. I'm also scared of anything hot. So after climbing inside both Zack and I got out. Kelden stayed and really enjoyed himself. Look at him waving at me...

...or smiling as he looks down:

It didn't go that high, but still..

I do have more pictures (we had so much fun these past few weeks) but that should be enough!

Keld's Summer

I don't think Keld had the best summer ever this year. He did have some good times with his family but other than that his days off were for funerals or more work. That's right, the kids made sure he had work to do, but they did help too!

Kelden accidentally took out one of the towel racks in the bathroom.

So Keld had to patch the holes and paint.

Since all the walls in our house are white, beige or brown, I thought we should bring in some color. We went to Keld's favorite store and scanned a few samples. Keld kept coming back to the one called: Ballroom Blue, saying it reminded him of me.

For Julia, Ballroom Blue means you want to dance when you go to the bathroom. Of course, depending on the light, and it definitely doesn't show the same in pictures, Ballroom Blue can look different, but it's definitely more purple than blue, which is probably why it makes Keld think of me...

Keld didn't find enough time to finish his woodworking projects yet but he did help Cadie with one of hers.

He also participated in a world record.

A very busy summer, but I think he would have liked to do more of this:

Maybe next year, and maybe the weather will cooperate...maybe...

A Week With the Boushy Family

Cousin Lee and her three children were able to come before Granny passed away. Unfortunately, Cousin Dave had to work but we were grateful that he let us enjoy his family while he probably was feeling lonely.

Of course, we went every day we could to see Granny. The walk wasn't long, we just wished the weather had been better.

It did warm up a bit and we were able to go to the pool a couple times.

It was also nice when we went to Cedar Meadows for the Wilderness Tour.

Lee had told us that she had never seen a moose!

We stopped feeding them so that Mom could have a turn.

Talking about food, that week the doctor made sure we were correctly fed...

We went to the cottage on Saturday. Tubing was a favorite.

No matter where we were or what we did, we all had fun together!

Thanks for coming and sharing your talents!

 We miss you already...

We hope to see you soon!!!
