A Crafty Summer
It was a crafty summer for Julia especially. She has been having a lot of fun with her RainbowLoom creations.
She watches tutorials online (as soon as she gets up) and can now do pretty much anything.
She woke up one Sunday and made a bracelet just to match her dress.
But she also makes charms (minions, Olaf, etc.). She enjoyed the Relief Society's Christmas in July activity (so did I, maybe I'll make Christmas in July a tradition in our family). She came as Sr Poirier's assistant to help make these:
But she took advantage of being there to make some more crafts.
She also finished one of my Young Women's project (I was released before I was able to get it done): a scripture bag.
In case you think I have her finish all my projects, here's a picture of the two rag quilts I made this summer (thanks to Sr Walker for providing the material).
Kelden is not as crafty, but he still did some coloring and painting.
He had fun with his Lego and his Star Wars binder but I think I already posted those pictures so here's one that I haven't posted.
The Kayak Challenge
I had compulsory kayak classes in grade 5 (lake and ocean kayaking) but no, I did not participate in the challenge yesterday. Keld had to be there for the prizes so we accompanied him. It was a very nice day.
They tried to see if they could become pilots, like Uncle Jeff, but I don't think they're ready yet.
They both crashed into the ocean..
Zack didn't try the simulator. He did the laser tag and the inflatables. I don't have a picture of his favorite inflatable, the one where you race with someone else, but I have pictures of the other two.
More painting, for a Timmins mural.
There were free cotton candy but only Julia liked it!
Science Timmins was there too. They had a few activities, including these building things.
And they offered hot air balloon rides. We got free tickets for that. Keld and Julia didn't want to go so I thought I would bring the boys. I knew I wouldn't like it since I'm scared of heights but I thought I could do it. Turned out I couldn't. I'm also scared of anything hot. So after climbing inside both Zack and I got out. Kelden stayed and really enjoyed himself. Look at him waving at me...
...or smiling as he looks down:
It didn't go that high, but still..
I do have more pictures (we had so much fun these past few weeks) but that should be enough!
