Happy Birthday Bruce !!

Today Bruce turned two and we were invited to the party. We first had pizza.

Then cake.

Sorry, not the greatest picture. Actually today wasn't a good day for me and my camera. I made a mistake and the song didn't get recorded :( All I have is the blowing of the candles.

After the cake, the presents. Bruce followed protocol and opened the cards first..

Of course, he got plenty of help to open the presents...

...and to play with them !

And here's a picture of some of my favorite guests.

As you can see, we all had a good time!  Thank you and Happy Birthday Bruce!!!

March Break. Part Six: The End

We saved the best for last: skating. I couldn't miss our last free hour ! I was able to convince Julia to come with me. At first we were the only ones there.

Then other people came, including Kelden !

I was very proud of him as he decided to come skating and beat his record by going twice around the rink (instead of just once).

I was also super proud of Julia who once with me on the ice decided to stay the whole time. In 50 minutes she says she went around 69 times.

Next year we'll definitely be pro.

March Break. Part Five: Photoshoot

Julia woke up on the Thursday with a mission. She wanted me to take pictures of her and her brothers so she could update the pictures in her room (she wanted to include Zack). She asked her brothers to wear blue (she knew she had more blue than they had pink). Kelden reluctantly changed but Zack didn't. He stayed in his pyjamas, but Julia said it was fine since they had blue.

Zack may not have wanted to change, but, at least, he was willing to smile.

Unlike Kelden.

He led the others...

We had a hard time getting a "normal" picture of him and his sister.

Oh well, that's what happens with brothers!

March Break. Part Four: Fun Work

Julia and Kelden are too young to have homework during holidays but Kelden should be practising his writing. So we played with crayons.

He still uses both hands, a pencil in each...

Julia finished her scrapbook.

We also practised on Special's windows.

Kelden should also be able to get dressed on his own, like zip his sweaters and coat. He's getting better, he and Julia are always changing clothes. Always in style.

Zack, on the other hand...

...well, who cares about style anyway?

March break. Part Three: Sun and Snow

Many Canadians go somewhere warm to escape winter during March Break. We do too. Although we don't go as far as California, as Julia would want us too. We don't tan but we go swimming.

We came back to the snow with a secret: you can paint it! I've been here over 10 years and no one had told me! (Good thing Linda did it at her carnival). I think it is going to take me another 10 years to be an artist...But Julia and Kelden seem to be already good at it.

Julia even wrote a message for Dad!

I made the green heart, the only thing I did that almost worked. Like I said, I need practice, and I'm at the right place for that!

March Break. Part Two: The Sleepover

We invited Linda for a sleepover during the vacation and we took Bruce for the evening as well.

As usual, Julia was very stressed, even if she was well prepared. She made sure we had popcorn and an activity. They started with the popcorn.

The activity was making crowns. Bruce seemed interested but didn't make one.

Kelden did make one, but not with Little Poneys.
After the craft, back to the snacks. Smarties and cookies.

With all that sugar, they didn't fall asleep until 10 pm (well, maybe Bruce was better).

And they woke up to more sugar with cupcakes for breakfast. (Don't we eat healthy!?)

Linda chose to stay the whole day. We did some painting and, of course, our favorite, a chocolate cake.

I tried to keep them busy together as I could see Kelden feeling a little bit left out. He invited Linda to play with him, telling her "I have girl cars, pretty cars." She did play with him but I guess he could tell she preferred Julia's toys as he decided to go back to the living room and play with Zack.

At least he has a brother! Julia wished she had a sister, but cousins are just as good.

Too bad her other 5 girl cousins live so far...
