Happy Birthday Bruce !

Today, Bruce turned three and we celebrated yesterday with his siblings.

We had pizza and cake.

After that, he was ready to open his presents..and so was his Dad!

Spring !

It's officially spring, which means....absolutely nothing, especially if you live in Timmins. While everybody else in the world is starting to suffer from warm weather, having to change all their clothes, look for sunglasses, get the bikes and roller-blades out, etc., we peacefully keep enjoying winter's cold. We still have lots of snow, but it's not sticky enough for snowmen, poor Zack:

So sliding he goes:

He's scary...

But then, so are his siblings..

They like getting stuck in the snow.

And Keld likes to rescue them. He's the King of Winter!

You reign over a longer period of time that way (at least in Timmins!).

March Break

Well, tomorrow is back to school. March break is over. As every Canadian does this time of year, we went down south to the beach...

Okay, since we were just back, we only used our swimming gear at the pool here. We went a couple of times and learned that Zack definitely doesn't like the hot water but I was pleasantly surprised to see that he actually liked the other pool. He'd rather go swimming at the pool than taking a bath..
There was free swimming but also free skating this week!

I was proud of myself, not so much because I brought all the kids on my own- after all, I only have three- but because I drove quite a bit (yes, it's lots for me) in the winter! I also drove to Ashley's...

...and to the church. They like to run free in the gym and play with other church members.

They got to take a picture with Batman and play on the Shafers' inflatable castle.

But, of course, I didn't take the car every day (and make Keld walk in the cold all week).
At home this is what we like to do:

But you have to eat your vegetables first!

We did a lot of drawing, painting, scrapbooking...

And we had some visitors! Simon came for a day:

And the Coopers came too. They brought a new box for Julia (Elianne had broken one).

Keld didn't take time off but he let the kids play with his new toy...

Special and Grandpa Bruce also played with the kids. They had a sleepover on Friday that actually started at the Dollar Store. This is what Kelden and Julia chose:

But tomorrow, back to school. I think Zack will miss them !

It's going to be just the two of us again...

Hopefully you can catch up on your sleep and me on everything else !

Relief Society Anniversary

We are lucky to have Sr Poirier in our ward, but we do have other talented sisters too! Here are pictures of some who were able to attend the Relief Society Anniversary dinner this week, starting with two leaders getting the food ready...

I don't think I need to put captions, you'll recognize who's who.

We have even more wonderful sisters in the ward, but that's it for today !

Sewing Lessons

Over a year ago, Sr Poirier had offered to give Julia sewing lessons. I wasn't sure Julia was ready but after the Young Women project and our free machine, I thought: why not now!
So we went to the store, and Sr Poirier went more than once. She got Julia a nice box with all the necessary beginners' stuff.

We adjusted the pedal:

And they started their first project:

They went pretty fast!

Thank you Sr Poirier !

They already have lots of ideas for their next projects...
