Happy Easter !

Keld had both Friday and Monday off for Easter, so the kids were really excited to play with him.

They also played with the cousins.

We had the big meal at Grandpa Bruce and Special's on Friday. Thank You !
We did our Easter egg hunt on Saturday (it was Fast Sunday here this week-end).

This year they didn't get chocolate eggs or bunnies. Zack got Zuma (from Paw Patrol, he's really into it at the moment).

Kelden got dominoes.

And Julia a Sunday dress.

On Sunday we had leftovers and fruit salad (a definite favorite) at Grandpa and Special's and today we had our traditional Easter nest.

We, of course, talked about what Easter means and the kids have been singing about the resurrection quite a bit as they practiced for sacrament meeting.

Happy Easter !

New Style

Thanks to Aunt Ashley, both Julia and Zack now have new hairstyles! Here are the before and after pictures.

And, we don't want anyone jealous, so here are two pictures of Kelden. One with the famous necklace they give you at school when you lose a tooth and one with his new bike.

Unfortunately, as you can see, the weather is not quite ready for bikes yet...

March Break

It was good to have the kids with me for a week. We had lots of fun. The highlight, however, was not to be with me. It was the now traditional Easter sleepover at Grandpa and Special's. We were barely home from their place that the kids were ready to go back.

They watched a movie, had an Easter hunt and made a few crafts, including what Kelden calls the Resurrection scene.

Talking about crafts, Julia finished an Easter banner at Activity Day.

And she started her shield for a school project with her dad. She's going to be fighting with her brother I guess.

We had good weather  for this week and decided to go outside to prepare the way for the bikes. There was a lot of snow to get rid of in order to reach the shed.

We also played outside when the Coopers came.

And, of course, we did our usual activities: swimming, baking, reading...

It was really hard to go back to school this morning. But they start back with two short weeks, so it should be all right.

A Busy Week

I can't access my pictures when we are petsitting, but we did have a busy week. So, of course, we were watching the animals.

And, as you can see, Keld (and I) were sick most of the time. The kids were fine, they were catching up on some TV.

They got tired of it though because it was the same episodes over and over again. So we played Kelden's new favorite game: dominos.

Julia also went to a birthday party (thanks to Uncle James) where she learnt to arm knit a scarf.

I went to an unbirthday party we had for the Relief Society anniversary. It was on March 9th, which actually would have been my brother's 35th birthday had he lived past birth. Sr Morrissette had it all decorated on the theme of Alice in Wonderland.

Grandpa Bruce and Special were coming back yesterday and since it is now March break, the kids got to help with the cleaning.

Maybe they can do my spring cleaning now?

Another Long Week-End

I'm not sure why, maybe teachers didn't want to work an extra day, but February 29th was suddenly added to the pd day list. Zack and Kelden probably would have stayed home anyway as they were not feeling too well.

Knowing that Kelden was at Jacob 5, and that he likes to read a chapter a day, I told him it would be a good idea to read throughout the day if he wanted to be finished early enough. And so we did. Kelden reads lots on its own, but I help too. After one of our reading sessions, he went to see his brother feeling sorry for him because he can't read yet and told him: "I should read you something so you can have lots of "scripture power" like me." They have, by the way, really be enjoying the CD their Primary music leader made for them this year.

Julia knew exactly what she was going to do that pd day: cookies with mini-eggs.

These cookies seemed to cheer our sicky Zack who, for some reason, didn't feel as great the next day... I kept him with me, for old times' sake, but guess who has a sore throat now? We can't wait for spring!

But it looks like we're going to have to...
