Back from DisneyWorld

We left DisneyWorld and came back home in four days this time.

We crossed Florida and stopped in Forsyth, Georgia. Ryan used the playground and Julia talked to her friends while Keld and I walked to Walmart.

We got up early to drive through Atlanta.

It looked like a giant Christmas tree. Then we crossed Tennessee...

...and arrived in Ohio. We passed Cincinnati and stopped at the same camping we used last time in Ohio. Since some of us were sick, we just stayed inside this time.

We got up early to drive all the way to Canada.

We stopped in the same camping in Sault Sainte Marie where we thought we would go to church but as some of us were still sounding sick, we decided to drive straight home.

Fort Wilderness

Keld can check Fort Wilderness off his bucket list!

I already shared pictures of the small playground next to our spot and of the pool and of the boat that brings you to the Magic Kingdom (but here are some more.)

It was nice to be close enough to the marina that we could easily walk.We didn't do all the activities that were offered at the campsite but we did participate in a couple of scavenger hunts. One was more answering questions but the other made you move around the camp. We got a popsicle and a button for reward.

Every night, you can watch the fireworks from the marina and there is a little parade after too.

It was fun!

Water Fun

We didn't want to go to Disney during the school year as it is hard to skip classes in high school. (When Julia was sick last year for a week, we definitely saw a drop in her grades.) So we went in August, knowing there would be thunderstorms practically every day. We were ready!

Since August is hot, we also went to the water park a couple of times. You can't access it from the parks directly but it gave us an excuse to use the Skyliner.

I don't have many pictures of the water park since I don't have a waterproof case for the camera. Once, we left right before the storm, but as it is quite long to get home, we did get the rain (but we were already wet anyway!)

Disney Characters

We found that we saw less Disney characters than usual. We didn't try as hard as we used too either. And some would just fly by before you could take their picture (like Jack Sparrow.) Still, we did see some.

Ryan liked giving warm hugs.

But he started to lose the magic as he realized that Olaf wasn't cold and that most characters couldn't talk (because of the huge masks.)

It's better with the princesses.

And fun with the Legos.

For Disney's 50th birthday, there are 50 statues "hidden" in the parks. Most of them were easy to find but we did need some hints for a couple of others in order to find them all.

Those statues move but you need a paying magic band to activate them so we didn't.
