Lifting Weights

Mom bought me weights one year to exercise. I have to admit that right now, I don't use them; I have Zack. Here are some pictures of Keld lifting weights, from lighter (not light, lighter) to heavier.

We couldn't get a picture with the three kids, but I still beat them all!

Summer Faces

We're already half-way through the summmer vacation and I don't think Julia is missing school. She gets to interact with friends and teachers during the swimming lessons and that's good, but she probably doesn't need more. She enjoys just playing with her family.

I love their summer faces! We'd better make sure we enjoy the sun we've been having this year!

Swimming

With Grandpa Bruce and Special's pool + the lake at the cottage, we figured that Julia should learn how to swim, and her mom is definitely not the one to teach her. So she started swimming lessons this past week and we'll see if she can keep going (as there are always lots of people who want to register but not enough classes + I now need to bring the other two boys to watch her and between breastfeeding and Kelden's temper it might not work so well). Anyway, Friday was parents' day and I got to go with her and learn what she's learning (half of it I can't do, like opening your eyes in the water or put your whole head in without plugging your nose...). I was able to take pictures, but of her only, so you can't see the other 3 girls that go with her (the boy was too scared and gave up).

She's been enjoying it, especially the last part, when they go in the hot water (it is actually too hot for me, I had a hard time getting in). On Friday we also got a mid-session progress report where the instructor stated that she should practice opening her eyes in the water. I'm not sure why she said that because at the pool she does it pretty well.

Her dad does a good job too and I really like how he can plug his nose (and thinks that that's how everybody does it).

I sure can't do it. But I still go swimming and Zack went in too for the first time.

He didn't cry, but he doesn't seem to enjoy it as much as his siblings.

I didn't put Zack in the lake yet, I think it might be too cold for him. It is for his dad.

I do have to admit that it takes me a while before going in, same with Julia. Kelden, on the other hand, is a bit faster.

As you can see, I swam again with the ducks and ths time there is a picture to prove it!

A New Home for Simon

Since Simon has been laying eggs she's become more dangerous. Dangerous to herself first because she's not meant to lay eggs and we've never fed her for that purpose, so laying eggs (especially the weird shaped ones)could kill her. She is also now more protective and so more aggressive, which is dangerous for the kids (needless to say it's Kelden who scares us the most as he comes up too close to her).  Therefore, with a heavy heart, Keld decided to say good bye.

Last week-end at the cottage

Good-bye Special

Keld went with Dad down South this week to bring Simon to a lady, Nancy, who takes care of parrots at her home. She trains them, helps them stop their bad habits and finds them a new home. She said she thinks Simon will stop laying eggs and plucking her feathers as she gets used to a new environment. Here are pictures of her new place:

She's not alone

Have fun in your new adventures Simon!

What about Kelden?

After  a post about Julia and one about Zack, I know you are all wondering: but what about Kelden?
Well, Kelden is the same. He still loves his brother to death (meaning he still hugs him so strongly I have to stop him before he strangles him) and still imitates him for fun I guess.

He does have a new passion: driving. And where does he go? To Home Depot of course!

He takes after his dad for the love of Home Depot and maybe too for his stubbornness. Supper time and nigh time are still hard times and he still has a few accidents after months of potty training!!  Good thing I'm stubborn too :)

Anyway, we still love him and he sure appreciates hugs and kisses now!!

3 month old Zack

Zack is now 3 month old, weighs 16 pounds and meaures approximately 25 inches. Yep, he is fat for his age and height!

He is still a lot quiteer than Kelden and sleeps from 10pm to 4am almost all the time. (I know some do better, but for me, it is such a change!) He stays awake a bit more now during the day and this is what he does:

I know it was pretty long, but I coudn't cut him, he's too cute :)
