Pumpkin Carving

Keld thought he would be able to get away with pumpkin carving this year. I don't see why not going outside for trick or treat would prevent him from carving pumpkins..So we did it !

I'm not sure you can tell what's what (I couldn't). I did get the Spiderman for Ryan.

I didn't get Venom, who apparently is an enemy to Spiderman..He's surely scary enough for Halloween.

I did know why Zack made a snake. It's to go with his costume. "Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?"

I had absolutely no clue for Julia. She herself wasn't too sure. She learnt at school that it's a character in a video game called Among Us.

Now, the kids are allowed to go trick or treating so maybe we'll even be able to display our pumpkins !

Worth the Wait

For his birthday, all Zack wanted was a remote control car and Special got it for him! Since we were confined, we didn't go to the stores to give him more ideas. However, this summer he knew what he wanted: a LEGO pirate ship/island.

He has made the island first. He also got another birthday meal this week with Uncle Jeff and his family.

It was all worth the wait!

Happy Birthday Ryan !

 Ryan turned three last night!

He had a good day (I think). He started with doughnuts.

He had invited Spiderman and Spiderman came !

He also wanted a Spiderman cake and Special made it!

We had pizza as it is something Ryan really likes.

We had some cousins sing with us.

Then, he opened more gifts. He received some cars and a Spiderman/Cars bedding !!

One of his favourite cousins came to give him even more presents!

The drawings are from Scarlett! Thank you everyone !!

Thanksgiving

This week-end was the Canadian Thanksgiving. Because of the current restrictions, we celebrated with just our little family. We kept it as traditional as we wanted to. For example, we didn't have turkey (we've cooked turkey before and decided it was not worth it. The kids don't see the difference. I, of course, grew up with the idea that turkey was for Christmas so I didn't mind skipping it). Keld went for the chicken meal deal with ribs. It also came with potatoes the way kids like and pasta salads.

I did make mashed potatoes, the way my mom used to, with carrots. I also made peas for Zack and stuffing for Kelden and I.

We weren't very traditional for dessert either. None of this pumpkin stuff. We did make apple pies.

We are more into chocolate. Ryan couldn't even wait for the icing..He took a handful of cake while I was downstairs doing laundry. Keld was right there but of course, he was too busy to notice. This has been his year. Even when he is home, he's not. This time he was doing something for the course he is taking for work. Oh well, our three layer cake became a 2 layer.

On Sunday I tried to take pictures but Ryan wasn't in the mood.

On Monday Keld finished the first coat of paint on the house, which he had started 4 months ago I think (when I tell you he is busy..). He also washed the windows outside as he was around with the ladder. We helped too. I mowed the lawn, we raked, etc.

Happy Thanksgiving !
