Thanksgiving

This week-end was the Canadian Thanksgiving. Because of the current restrictions, we celebrated with just our little family. We kept it as traditional as we wanted to. For example, we didn't have turkey (we've cooked turkey before and decided it was not worth it. The kids don't see the difference. I, of course, grew up with the idea that turkey was for Christmas so I didn't mind skipping it). Keld went for the chicken meal deal with ribs. It also came with potatoes the way kids like and pasta salads.

I did make mashed potatoes, the way my mom used to, with carrots. I also made peas for Zack and stuffing for Kelden and I.

We weren't very traditional for dessert either. None of this pumpkin stuff. We did make apple pies.

We are more into chocolate. Ryan couldn't even wait for the icing..He took a handful of cake while I was downstairs doing laundry. Keld was right there but of course, he was too busy to notice. This has been his year. Even when he is home, he's not. This time he was doing something for the course he is taking for work. Oh well, our three layer cake became a 2 layer.

On Sunday I tried to take pictures but Ryan wasn't in the mood.

On Monday Keld finished the first coat of paint on the house, which he had started 4 months ago I think (when I tell you he is busy..). He also washed the windows outside as he was around with the ladder. We helped too. I mowed the lawn, we raked, etc.

Happy Thanksgiving !
