Julia is done with orthodontics (well, almost) She had to take her braces off before going back to Canada and got a permanent retainer. Here is a picture before everything and a picture after.
In between, there was the jaw (and chin) surgery. Here is the after/before picture.
She left for Barrie with her dad, pretty confident.
She soon changed...
After the operation, which lasted longer than expected (more than 5 hours) she went to rest at Cousin Lee's place but Cousin Dave brought her back to the hospital as she wasn't recovering well.
She went back to see the surgeon before going home as she really wasn't doing good at all. At home, she stayed on the floor for a few weeks, not able to feel her face or eat anything (all liquid and no straw).
Here is the picture a week after the operation:
As she couldn't go to school, I read for her and she did her best at home.
After 6 weeks, she was finally able to eat!
After a few months, she felt better.
She left for Idaho and at the beginning of the month she finally got the braces and elastics off.
Et voilĂ !
