Our First Adventure in the RV

For our first adventure with the RV, we didn't want to go too far, just in case. We had originally planned to go to a different provincial park but it had no internet or cell reception and there were quite a few meetings to attend this past Sunday. So we went to Ivanhoe Lake.

Our lot was pretty big and with no immediate neighbors, so we had lots of room. We didn't have direct access to the lake but the beach where pets are allowed was not too far.

There was another beach at the park entrance. That's also where the playground was.

We were able to call in for quite a few meetings on Sunday, even if the reception wasn't great and we had to call back sometimes. (By the way, our family song didn't sound  any better over the phone.) In between meetings, the kids worked on the activity kit they received from the park employees.

We stayed 4 days and unfortunately didn't have the best weather, mostly rain and bugs. We were prepared though, with bug suits and inside activities!

We still were able to make some campfires to smoke out the mosquitoes and feed our tummies.

Food is one of our favorite parts of camping ;) We sometimes ate inside. We can fit 4 at the table or 4 on the couch.

Because of the weather/bugs, we didn't go on all the trails. We did try the shortest one.

Again probably because of the weather, the kids' favorite activity was biking. Ryan wouldn't go too far but the others would ride different loops, including the one that would go almost all the way to the park entrance. (To help you with the map, we were lot # 70.)

We learnt a few things about camping and the RV but we still have lots to discover!
