...ready for 4 days with their Dad. On Friday we cleaned the Church, had a picnic there and went to Special and Grandpa Bruce's for supper. The kids got Easter bunnies and Jake's T-shirts.
Saturday was Bruce's birthday (see previous post).
On Sunday morning we had the Easter egg hunt. Julia wanted to do it like last year, with clues to go from room to room, ending with the treasure. And she wanted the treasure to be Merida, not chocolate. She's been talking about Merida since she borrowed the book at the library. She actually hasn't seen the movie yet. She has borrowed it from Linda the day, but she was so anxious to know if she would get the doll that she couldn't watch it !
Anyway, Keld prepared the clues while I was watching the Young Women General Conference but he waited for me to hide them. Julia was the first to wake up!
And the hunt began. Even Zack helped.
Julia was quite relieved when she saw the treasure! Kelden wondered which basket was his. We had books for the boys (gifts that we actually had forgotten to give at Christmas) and DVDs.
At church, the Primary children were supposed to sing during Sacrament meeting. Julia, too shy, didn't want to go but she went and did fine, while Kelden didn't mind going but made sure his mouth was firmly shut. I filmed then the next day. Kelden still wasn't into it, so I tried it twice. If you take the time to watch the second video, make sure you look in the mirror.
Sunday afternoon was nap and walk in the rain.
Then Monday morning we went hunting for Easter eggs on sale.
It wasn't a warm day (we're only in April after all :) but we still had a lot of fun outside !
We also made our traditional Easter nest.
And Keld's favorite: a family picture.
Time to change underwear James.
It looks like a fun Easter! I think I need to start the tradition of making an Easter nest. That looks yummy! I can't believe how much snow you still have up there.
