Semiwite Lake

 Our campsite faced Lake Semiwite.

It wasn't too cold for the ladies to relax. Zack and Kelden swam the furthest.

The Coopers have kayaks and all our kids wanted to try.

The beach wasn't the greatest as it was more rocks than sand but the kids still made sandcastles.

Zack liked to skip stones.

At night, they would go fishing and they once saw a great sunset.

There's a creek off the lake with the same name. There's a little hike that makes you walk along that creek all the way to the road and then back through the woods again. The Coopers and Sister Newton having done that little hike the day before we came told us that it wasn't worth doing the loop but that we should just walk along the creek all the way to the road and then just turn around and come back the same way. So, on our last morning, while some kids were still asleep, Keld and I went for a walk.

Apparently, we are not morning people... A few minutes after this picture was taken, I thought I saw a bear...but it was just a trunk..Keld laughed at me but two seconds later, we heard a branch crack and a few steps after we saw a bear, a real one! As we were wondering if we should scream or stay put, the bear ran away towards the road. So we turned around a little sooner than we had planned to...
