Since all our kids were going to be animals, I thought Keld and I should be animals too. (Here I should remind you- as if I needed to- that I am French and insects, for us French people, are animals too. I understand that they are not for Canadians). I also thought that being a family of animals reflected the zoo we have at home (anyone who's tried to talk to me on the phone will tell you, I'm not a good zookeeper).
So, we first went to see Special, our make-up specialist.
Zack didn't really need any make-up and I don't think he wanted any (he got scared when he first looked at me).
Then, we got dressed up.
For Keld and I, it meant putting the ears that Julia had made for us.
It was a little more complicated for Zack. He was NOT cooperative. We started with the penguin outfit but we quickly realized that the feet were just too much for him. He kept pulling them and we decided to change. Maybe next year. The spider outfit had no feet, so I hoped he would get used to it faster, even if he really did NOT want to get dressed up at all.
Kelden and Julia were fine, of course.
And the whole family was ready !
As you can see, we did try to decorate our trunk. We hadn't carved our pumpkins yet, so we just brought the board we use for the kids'crafts. Some people were more prepared and really into the Halloween spirit.
I thought that last lady was pretty ugly and scary. She is actually a friend of Julia's and related to Special!
There were, of course, pretty cute people too!
I think that being with all the other kids is what Julia liked the most. I liked our painted faces.
Our next Halloween party was the carving of the pumpkins at Grandpa Bruce and Special's.
Keld carved 3 pumpkins before I even finished one...
Then, D-day finally arrived. In the morning, I went to the school for the parade, and I brought back Kelden's costume to be sure he wouldn't forget it for later! Unlike last year, I wasn't the only parent attending the parade. There were 4 others, 3 were dressed up and the other mom had a baby dressed up!
I took videos and pictures but for some reason, I have more pictures of Kelden than Julia. Since I didn't know how long Zack would stay quiet, I filmed the kids entering the gym first and then the parade.
The videos are pretty long and of course, Kelden and Julia are at the end. In the first one, Julia's class is at 3min 20s and Kelden's at 4min 26s. In the second video, Julia's class is at 2min 45s and Kelden at 4min 14s.

Kelden came back with lots of treats:
There were treats waiting for them at home too, from our neighbors! Nice treats in nice bags.
As usual, Keld brought the kids as early as he could in the evening. Surprisingly, Zack put his costume on without crying, unlike Julia. The princess dress she really wanted was a bit too big and it was too rainy for the Rapunzel wig...But she came back happy anyway (soaked, but happy) !!!
It's sad that the weather seems to never cooperate.
And here is the bounty:
I think that's enough candy for a while! And enough pictures for this post..okay, maybe a couple more and I'm done.
My Minnie looks like a bull ;)
Happy Halloween !!!
