Europe 2013: The Food

Of course, we go to France to visit friends and family, but we also enjoy what the country has to offer that we don't get here in Canada, or, rather, here in Timmins, like, for example: good food,  good public transportation or good weather.

Let's start with the food. We miss the pastries, of course, with our favorite: pains au chocolat.

We miss other pastries, too, but I couldn't take pictures of them all...

We miss cakes, bought ones but especially home-made ones....

Zack's favorite dessert became a special chocolate yogurt: le liégeois.

They are kind of like the pudding I like.

And since it was quite hot, we got lots of ice-cream !

But, believe it or not, we don't just like desserts...Main meals are pretty good too. Julia really likes galettes (which I can't make here because they don't sell the type of flour you need).

She also was brave enough to try some of Tonton Laurent's recipe.

And we all were grateful that Grand-mère went strawberry picking to make jam.

Regional products are the best.
